No he never, he fought at 150-ish at an early stage in his career but a lot of younger fighters do that, then drop down to a more comfortable weight, especially as their training picks up.

Look at Thurman's physique at 147lb, he is skinny with spindly arms, although he does have some serious power. At 5'7'' and with that frame, he doesn't suit 154lb. Yes he could make the weight but he would get handled by the top level guys there.

He's hasn't achieved anything at welterweight yet and isn't big enough for 154 anyway.
    I never said he should.

He needs to just keep active till he gets his chance, try and be a Mandatory or something to that effect because we all know that someone like Maidana for example would not fight him.

He even won a regional title at 154 against Quintana just 2 years ago

Why mention these 2 in the same breath as Thurman??? Golovkin has 2 titles and Rigo has 2 and is the lineal champ

I view Porter and Alexander as more likely than Guerrero and Maidana.

Alexander was already keen on the Thurman fight, and now he pretty much has no options. Porter has lost some standing so may be interested.

I don't think Guerrero has any interest and last I saw Maidana was talking retirement, with Robert Garcia pushing him towards big money fights.

Right but we also know that nobody is begging to fight Thurman. He's toxic goods.

At this point he's too scary to get the fights.

so? he only weighed in at about 151 or so. Winning that **** title means jack, its like winning the southern area title over here in the UK.

Like I said, some fighters, as they get older and start stepping up in comp, they do move down in weight.

Alexander has bigger balls than Maidana and Guerrero, that's for sure.

I don't really think there are any other options for Maidana, it's either Thurman or retirement.

You're right about Guerrero though, guy wants absolutely nothing to do with Thurman.
