Haymon's background is in producing music concerts. The name of the game is to hype up the show and get people in the seats. After that it doesn't matter if they enjoy the show or not because the money is already being counted.
Same applies for Mayweather fights. He is not an action fighter and as entertainment his calculating defensive style is boring. But you hype it up by having him and his family create controversy and make people really want him to lose a fight against a low risk opponent. People will complain that the show is boring once it starts but the money is already being counted.

He is speaking as if top rank and Bob Arum doesn't do something like the same exact thing. When it's cool for one to do it and not cool when the other does it, it can give the impression of bias. They're biased towards Haymon and it's all to the good when Pacquiao just fought a complete nobody. SMH If it's wrong and unacceptable in the case of Haymon then it should be wrong when Arum does it. It all feels like it's racial issues. When Algieri used boxing skill and movement to beat provodnikov, he was praised. that's a style mayweather has been using for a long time being criticized the whole way through.

When did Stevenson avoid Hopkins? Last I checked Hopkins turned down Stevensons offer to fight Kovalev for less money.

Part of ducking is also pricing yourself out. Which is what Stevenson did.

Haymon deserves criticism for how many mismatches he served up this year. I hope it was just a temporary thing until he sets his master plan in motion because nobody will stand for seeing this happen again in 2015.

However why didn't Lampley similarly go hard against Bob Arum and Top Rank for Chris Algieri and the proposed Jessie Vargas fight for Pacquiao? If he is truly bothered by mismatches in the sport then these deserved a mention as well

If he isn't going to be an objective analyst then it's going to be hard to take him seriously anymore. He will fall into the category of being just another network fanboy.

That show is so horribly biased. They usually spend most of the show sucking off GGG. He is never going to be the star HBO wants him to be.

Here we go a pro black deflector bringing up Pacquiao, Algieri is not a nobody an unknown to mainstream yes but not a nobody like Salka, he beat Emmanuel Taylor and Ruslan and he has a title, what did Salka do? nothing Salka was an undersized lightweight moving up never won a title and never beat any credible opponents.

Just great that y ou have to deflect to Pacquiao only to make yourself look bad by deflecting to a fight that wasnt as bad as Garcia vs. Salka or the other mismatches by Haymon. one fight? compared to Haymons multiple mismatches, Haymon is the main hold up he is why Oscar is screwed with no fighters to his stable because Rich and Haymon were trying to set Oscar up for failure to start their own stable and promotions, he is part of the reason Pacquiao Mayweather didn't happen for so long.

The man is like a parasite who lurks in the shadows, never does interviews.

If he were white you would call him the devil but since he is black you defend him, get rid of that BS race driven victim mentality, and look at the entire picture, the man is killing the sport.

The fight game is garbage, I like under the lights better for every fight. they should do an under the lights.

Manny fought a damn kick boxer on PPV. He didn't make mention of Provodnikov fighting a 60yr old Jose Luis Castillo.

Yeah, those are quality fights right there, according to Jim Lampley. I see he also didn't mention the Pacquiao vs Vargas fight that'll be on HBO PPV. He also didn't mention how one of Haymon's fighters just got robbed on HBO last week
This post downright sucks all the way around. Manny fought Chris algieri who is the number 3 ranked light welterweight. That is a higher ranking than Adrien broker who is at number 6. If it were Manny vs broker nobody would have complained but since he was not as known people complain. Also provodnikov didn't even fight Castillo on HBO lol HBO wouldn't dare show that kind of fight like ShowTime did with salka, HBO has standards that's why they cleaned house in the ratings. Also Mauricio Herrera isn't a haymon fighter he is a golden boy fighter, and what dies HBO have to do with a judges decision? The second best top rank fighter Tim Bradley got robbed in the same card. Every single point you made is faulty and ******ed.
