The Haymon -Mayweather self preservation model worked for Floyd, ok, but when they start applying it to average guys like Stevenson and Danny Garcia its unnecessary and excessive. The best thing HBO could have done was get that product off they're network. Showtime and Haymon are the minor leagues of boxing.

Well said, arum made the best fights last year and always puts his fighters at risk for the good of the fans. Its just good business to do that, that's why we've seen 4 Mann and marquez fights. Also hbo wont show any less than quality fights, that's why Mikey Garcia stopped fighting because he was going to fight a decent fighter from Japan but he wasn't known at all so HBO wouldn't show the fight and he ducked gamboa and arum got pissed and had Terance Crawford go beat him.

We know where Lampley's allegiance lies, but it doesn't mean that there isn't truth in what he says. HBO's year was FAR from flawless, but it seemed like they were trying to be more choosey with what they allowed on their network and how much $ they were dishing out per card. Showtime allowed their standards to slip this year, which absolutely ****** for us. Let's hope both networks try harder in 2015.

He may or may not be a hypocrite, but that doesn't necessarily make his statements regarding Haymon inaccurate.

When did I say his statements were inaccurate? I don't disagree with what he is saying, but at the same time I don't respect him. If he sincerely cared about the sport, he would dole out the same treatment across the board.

Haymon's background is in producing music concerts. The name of the game is to hype up the show and get people in the seats. After that it doesn't matter if they enjoy the show or not because the money is already being counted.
Same applies for Mayweather fights. He is not an action fighter and as entertainment his calculating defensive style is boring. But you hype it up by having him and his family create controversy and make people really want him to lose a fight against a low risk opponent. People will complain that the show is boring once it starts but the money is already being counted.

If he were so boring people wouldn't be interested in watching him fight. It's not like it's a secret that he has great defense.
