Nice joke. I saw Ali, SRL, ..... not on tape delay years later.

"Lineal champ" You think that means anything in Baldomir's case? Only for people like you that eat up those type of stats. Sure for Baldomir, it's a great achievement........ What you need to do is analyze not just say "Oh, that guy must be great because he had a lineal title" ..... that is what a causal fan would do.

Baldomir got lucky in that he faced 2 opponents that were not really that good at WW but both were popular.
Judah has lost almost 50% of his fights at WW. Realized and moved down to 140 (too late). Judah is so inconsistent when he fights. You never know what you are going to get. Against Baldomir, Judah looked terrible..
Gatti admitted that his body wouldn't let him fight at 140 no more and had to move up. He lost to Baldomir and his next fight he retired realizing that he was no WW.

After that year, did Baldomir beat good quality opponents? No? How come? Because he is just not good.

Boxing history is LITTERED with champions that did not make the contracted weight and had to give up their titles on the scales, or pay a fee to their opponent.

It happens and it's a part of the sport.

The fight went 12 rounds. It's not like Mayweather used this mythical weight advantage and KO'd Marquez.

Hell, two fights before Broner fought Maidana, he was fighting two weight classes below Welterweight. But I don't hear any excuses for Broner.

Weight didn't beat Marquez. Mayweather's skills beat Marquez. And lets not forget that Mayweather was out of the ring for over a year when he fought Marquez.

Since you're focused on little details then don't forget that one either.

PAC fanatics are the only ones that will argue winning and losing and regaining the wbo belt is more impressive than twice remaining a lineal title, remaining undefeated and regularly facing top ten comp

No matter how you slice it pacquaio never went for the number one guy @ ww....Mosley offered to fight at 143 they declined so money fought him and beat him

Before that he was lineal was well but retired

          2x lineal champ> 2x wbo titlist

Look at who they both fought and when they fought

PAC has fought 2/4 of his last fights against unranked guys at ww also has a ko loss to a guy who never won at ww, jmm who money schooled

Mayweather hasn't fought an unranked guy in almost 6 years while being champ @ two weights now

Lineal Champion in 2 weightclasses at the same time. WBC and WBA Champion in 2 weightclasses at the same time. These are facts.

By the end of next year (If he faces Manny and Khan/Brook winner) he could unify all the belts at WW.

Imagine that! Who are you talking about Brain Kenny?

Canelo fans also said that Floyd is going to duck him but we all know which type of fights Floyd takes.

I had said a long time ago that Floyd should have fought 2010 version of Manny, Sergio Martinez, P. Williams and said that Floyd would find them too risky.

FMJ is a great fighter-- ATG50 IMO--, but stats should be taken with context. We can argue all day long regarding xyz statistics, but after a while, like in baseball, there is always some obscure statistic. However, at the end of the day, it's meaningless unless the fighter secures his legacy.

As for PAC not fighting the top WW, aka FMJ. They both messed that up. Pac for declining drug testing in 2009/2010 and FMJ for a series of excuses afterwards.

Manny faced the younger opponent named Cotto who beat Mosley. If you remember, Mosley beat a Margarito that had just been caught cheating. A Margarito that while dangerous, Mosley had the perfect plan and better suited for Mosley.

Mosley was ranked due to what he did on Jan 2009 not May 2010 when he fought Floyd. By then, Floyd admitted that the inactive Mosley was OLD. That fight and the ones that followed proved it ..... still, Floyd's words are what you should be focusing on!!!

Both Manny and Floyd fought a Mosley that was no longer Mosley. No PEDs, no youth, no activity in the Floyd fight. Also, everyone should know that Manny would face Cotto for 2 important reasons.
One, Cotto was a Top Rank fighter. Mosley was not!
Secondly, Cotto would bring in more money than a Mosley fight.
                      Nice try but no cigar!

Marquez: You did it again. In one sentence, you shoot down 2 140 fighters that had or used to have a title because they were not ranked at 147 but mention that Floyd beat Marquez. Was Marquez that Floyd fought ranked? Did he ever fight at 140? 147? How many at 135? Only two times!!! You can't even be consistent in one sentence!!!

Finally, those fighters that Floyd fought were mostly ranked due to their fight prior to Floyd's. That is a ranking based on hype not consistency. If the fighter can continue to beat top ranked opponents that is when one should conclude that he at least belongs there. Still, there may be such a gap between a 9th ranked fighter and the top 3 that even being in the top 10 isn't a big deal. I know that don't tell me that you don't and just base it on stats?
