Comments Thread For: Dirrell: I Honestly Believe Carl Froch is Scared To Fight!

More than four years after making the strange decision to drop out of Showtime’s Super Six super middleweight tournament, Andre Dirrell has slowly pieced back together his career. The once-beaten Top 10 contender has now won six straight, his latest coming Friday evening in a 12-round virtual shutout of Derek Edwards at Colisee de Quebec in Quebec City, Canada.

The win put Dirrell in position to eventually challenge for a super middleweight title. More important to his career – if not his fighting pride – the belt owner is none other than unified titlist Carl Froch, the only fighter to hang a loss on Dirrell.

Scared from a guy who literally ran around the ring for 12 rounds? Please.

Pretty much, based on Froch's career to date I would have no qualms with him wanting to cashout on the biggest money making fights he can get until he decides that is it. Froch is a warrior who has always fought the best and given us some damn entertaining performances while Dirrell hasn't done much of anything since their fight. He hasn't even won an ABC strap FFs, and is basically no further along in his career than he was 5 years ago regulated down to prospect status.

Is he even in the top 10?

He's clearly a massive talent but his inactivity is ruining what could have been a damn good career.

I don't see what notable wins he has other than a DQ against Abe several years ago, he has not earned a shot against Froch but by the time he had if he can Froch might have already retired.

Why would Froch have any interest in Dirrell a guy he beat but in ine if the worst fights in recent years.

Dirrell has done nothing since they fought, which was in 2009! Heading toward 6 years ago for crying out loud.
