I'm a fan of Maidana but I posted last week that I am skeptical on his hunger going forward. I was disappointed by his fire in the 2nd Floyd fight and now these Thurman comments just reinforce my view on that - for now at least.
what happen to maidana being a warrior?

To everyone who's saying that he should chase bigger fights, who are the bigger fights? Keep in mind that he is coming off two losses
He's obviously not getting Floyd again
Pac and Bradley are with TR
Marquez wants a title shot
Khan has bigger and better options in Floyd and Kell
That leaves Porter, Guerrero and Thurman. I know which one I'd like to see...Comment

maidana was supposed to be this warrior who fought everybody. Everytime this warrior steps up he loses. Boxing guru Robert Garcia said during the mayweather fight that maidana would fight in a backyard for free. All of a sudden when thurman is mentioned he becomes a prize fighter. Now he wants a khan payday lol.
Khan is not only a more lucrative fight but also better for Maidana's legacy. Khan like it or not is in the higher echelon of fighters just below Floyd and PAC.Comment

says the khan fan
khan's been trying to get the money fight since the last 4 years now, you are accusing him of doing what khan's been doing all along.
maidana/thurman is a close fight, people are just hyping bundu levels above where he really isComment

Exactly, hilarious how a persons favorite fighter is immune to the same standards he holds other fighters to.
Nothing wrong with Maidana fighting Khan again. After all the talk about Khans hand speed festival and scintillating boxing display isnt it brave of Maidana to want to fight him?
The general opinion was Thurman didnt rise to expectations vs Bundu, he won every round but played it safe. Him vs Porter would be a good fight.Comment

I do think Maidana beats Thurman, but right now it's not looking good on him with the whole ducking thing. It sucks for Maidana because Thurman is a big puncher, but brings neither money nor a name. So, it's a tough one.Comment
