In what world did Broner give Maidana hell?

maidana was clearly rocked by an illegal punch after the 11th round bell and again in the 12th while he was still buzzed. that's probably what maidana was referring to.

i challenge you to point out which specific rounds broner "was giving him hell". was it during the first round when he got humped?

Tell Maidana before they fight that if he beats Algieri he will get a fight with Pacquaio and see what happens, Algieri wil cough it up around the 8th round, that's for damn sure!
Algieri is too textbook for Maidana, just because he can jab and move doesn't mean that he can outbox any pressure fighter, there are levels to this. I don't see anything special in his style that can give Maidana any trouble, he is not fast enough to throw power shots and get out of the way, his feet are not fast, his pivotting wasn't so impressive, he can't feint, his defense has holes in it, he can't go to the body well, his power shots are too weak to have any affect on a guy like Maidana, his chin is ordinary and his will is questionable (He intentionally took a knee plenty of times against Pacqiuao).
You can't beat a guy like Maidana with ordinary boxing skills, you have to be able to do all the things I mentioned above very well with more emphasis on the chin and the body attack, this is Maidana's weakness, if you can stand in front of him sometimes and dig him to the body and take his shots, he gets very frustrated and we all know good and well that Algieri can't do none of that.

no one besides floyd, who's defense goes without saying, has really beaten him that way either. standing toe to toe with maidana is a very bad idea. great post though, agreed with most of it.

I wonder if Floyd had fought Algeri and Pacquaio had fought Maidana you would feel the same way.

Only fanboys keeps bringing up Pac and Floyd in this conversation (to vindicate their hero).

If Floyd would have fought Algieri and Manny fought Maidana; Floyd wins every round against Algieri while Pacquiao wins every round or TKO's Maidana.

It's the styles that is making us come to this conclusion.
