Algeri, Broner in rematch, Bradley, Vargas.

Makes me think it's better not to fight Mayweather, atlest u don't get crapped on.
He's still a monster in the sense that he's a rough powerful guy at his weights but if Algieri could beat Provodnikov hs can beat Maidana. not saying he would but he COULD. It's pretty 50/50.

Honestly Maidana is probably the more skillful tricky boxer offensively (just slower), he would almost certainly be the one landing the good counters.

OK Algeri can run around? but is that going to lead to winning situations for him? I would say no because Maidana will have forward momentum to help maul Algeri plus there will be nothing to keep Maidana honest allowing him to do as he wants.

That is why I would give him little shot of winning though, I don't think time and space are his friends in that fight and if those elements are not friendly to Algeri he is never going to win that fight.
      This. Every word of it.

I'd green you, but apparently I already have recently.

          Nice bold,
Come on man, if Floyd didn't fight Maidana and Manny didn't fight Algieri, this thread would NOT have been made .....

You know this and I know this. You just don't like people bringing up Floyd in a negative way.

Yep it was a close fight and he was by no means "easily outboxing" him as seems to be the theme of this thread, but he won the fight by winning more rounds. NO reason he couldn't escape with the same narrow strategic victory against Maidana once he started making him miss.

Not that Ruslan and Maidana are exactly the same fighter, but the strategy to beat them is definitely the same (don't get beat up). They are not "total package" fighters like Pacquaio - once you start making them miss you win.

I couldn't give a damn about people talking trash about Floyd. Or Pacquiao. Or me. Or you.

It doesn't matter that they fought Mayweather and Pacquiao. And it doesn't matter that, that is the reason this thread exists. This thread is about what would happen if Algrieri fought Maidana. Not about Mayweather. Not about Pacquiao.

How in the hell are we supposed to talk about an Algieri/Maidana matchup, if everyone is consumed with Mayweather talk?

thats where we differ. I didn't think the provodnikov fight was close. I thought Provo got robbed. And to your point I think Algieri was severely beat up in that fight.

                  Maidana would retire Algeiri.

He's not going to let him off the hook like Pacquiao did.

OMG You must be trying to convince yourself. I do my job as a fan of the sport to put pressure on the fighter that's acting like a coward. And the groupies come to Floyds rescue acting like their butt hurt. You are a groupie even if you don't want to admit it. Your on every single Floyd thread defending him but your not a groupie GTFO! I think your just mad because your god used a 26ft ring against a b-class plotter.
