There's no such thing really, all fight deals (like all business deals) are decided on the basis of negotiating power. But in most fights involving a star there's a clear enough difference between the two to label the more the powerful party the 'A side'.

In events like Pacquiao-Mayweather, that difference is much less obvious given that Manny is one of the biggest PPV stars ever. In this case the A/B side thing is just something for fanboys to argue about.

I can agree to a sense... but manny's fans would have a better case had pacquaio not "officially" lost to bradley or get knocked out by jmm.. since he lost twice in the last 2 years it hurts pac fans cases to say he still deserves a 50/50 split or even saying he brings alot of leverage into negotiations. Truth is pac will have sum say, because they both need eachother to cement their legacies but at the end of the day it will be floyd who dictates the terms hence making him the A side in the equation.

I agree, any division under 154 lbs. Should be contested wit 8 oz gloves that should be pre approved by the commision..... and as a floyd fan i would be highly, HIGHLY dissapointed if he didnt allow pac to wear cleto reyes gloves. That might give me a change of heart on supporting this guy.

Floyd made Maidana wear pillow gloves and Maidana didn't get to wear his type of gloves. You supported Mayweather through those events?

Nope paullie, it's an illusion. Take away the back up dancers in Floyd fight's (other known fighters in his undercards) his ppv will go down tremendously.

Plus the fact it's most of the time in a Mexican holiday and fighting a Mexican fighter. Take that away, put in a normal day with no back-up his numbers will for sure crumble.

Conman is fooling people. Even if the line up in the undercard for the Maidana fight had a huge undercard. Ppv Numbers were still down, plus the fact that people paid to see the other boxers too, not Floyd, some of the ppv numbers are from them, and knowing that, showtime still had lost millions of money.

Schaefer had to leave golden boy for his major blunder. The huge blunder event had lost Gbp and showtime a lot of money.
