Paulie is entitled to his opinion, and I happen to agree with him. Manny is an incredibly
popular guy in SE Asia, but Manny supports the Phillipinos financially and not the other way around. Seriously, how many Phillipinos are going to pay $100 (which is what I believe this PPV will cost) to see Manny fight, as opposed to Americans and other western nations?
It's all about the Benjamins. I don't see Manny as a "B" side, more reasonably a "A" side but Floyd is an "A+" side. Make it a 55/45 split, take the fight, and if you (Manny) win, then YOU get the 55% in the rematch.
It's true the Algieri fight should not have been a PPV, but FFS it was held in Asia and the bout confirms my point about SE Asians not ponying up for a PPV.
Can anyone here really imagine Algieri going 12 full rounds with Floyd? Or JMM ktfo of Floyd?
I'm not a Flo-mo nor a Manny hater...just calling it like I think it is.Comment

Because the fight would generate as much as $250-$300 million at the most, $150 million at the least. $40 million of $250/$300 million is just 13.3%-16% (of $150 million just 26%). Pacquiao knows of his value. Floyd also knows of Pacquiao's value and that's why $40 million is a bullshit number. If Paulie truly believed that he had the skills to take advantage of the holes that he sees in Pacquiao's game, he'd hear the $100k offer, work to have his team push that offer up to around the $1.5m that Team Algieri got, and he'd take the fight in a heartbeat.
Pacquiao had an offer for $40m, an offer that he had to go on national TV and admit was really offered, and refused to even feign to negotiate. lol.
But to also play devil's advocate, Pacquiao also said that the money does not matter. Once again Pacquiao has said that THE MONEY DOES NOT MATTER TO HIM. Floyd will use this against him.
$40 million flat is laughable but 33%-40% is absolutely fair.Comment

The richest fight in the modern history of the sport (dollar-adjusted values for inflation complicates things too much, imo) saw the two fighters split up $85m in fight proceeds, meaning the money that was available once everyone else got paid.
Mayweather-Alvarez, the new record for revenues, ended up with the two fighters splitting up ~$90m.
If the fight netted out $100m (~2.5m PPV buys @$75 per), the offer would lock Pacquiao into a 55/45 split on a record-shattering take, with all of the risk of even delivering that number put on Mayweather.
the delusions on here are laughable.Comment

Uhh....how? When Mayweather wanted to keep all of the PPV revenue to himself....The richest fight in the modern history of the sport (dollar-adjusted values for inflation complicates things too much, imo) saw the two fighters split up $85m in fight proceeds, meaning the money that was available once everyone else got paid.

Manny had a shot at 50/50 when the fight was at its peak. He blew it because of a freaking blood test cutoff date. Think about that.Comment
