You seem to be very strict on which fighters are 'top 5'. So applying your expertise, how many top 5 fighters has Froch beaten? If Bika doesn't count for Calzaghe, then Pascal, Dirrell, Johnson, Mack and Groves were on a similar level and don't cut it.

We're then left with 3 or 4 fighters in the top 5 for Froch, 2 of which he lost to: Ward, Kessler, Bute and Abraham (debatable based upon your ranking system). I'm sure your skewed criteria will account for this in Froch's favour however.

I'm going by The Ring Magazine rankings.

Froch has beaten;

Taylor #5
Abraham #5
Bute #1
Kessler #2
Groves #5

Sheika was shot against Lacy, so was Taylor against Froch. Big deal.

Lacy was an undefeated world champion widely considered to be the best in the division prior to Calzaghe. Taylor was a shot middleweight who got beaten down by the one dimensional Pavlik at middleweight before blowing himself up to super middleweight to outbox Froch for 11 rounds.

Can you give me a source for those rankings? Also, can you specify whether they're peak rankings, rankings at the time of the fight or current rankings? Otherwise, spewing out numbers is meaningless. Either way, if you're telling me Froch has beaten 5 'top 5' fighters and Calzaghe has beaten at least 3, it's hardly conclusive 'resume-wise'.

Eubank at one time or another will have been top 5 also.

outboxed for 11 Rounds

When I say outboxed, he was clearly ahead on points - two of the three judges had Taylor 4 points up going into the final round.

On a side note, I am actually a fan of Carl Froch - especially after he ironed out Groves. I just think the whole 'resume' thing is a bit overplayed whereas Calzaghe is bashed when he has arguably beaten better fighters in Hopkins and a peak Kessler.
