Froch can do whatever he wants and everybody else should keep quiet and just appreciate such a legend.

Calzaghe was brilliant and I'm not playing down his skills because I think if he fought better fighters he probably would have beaten them, but the fact of the matter is Froch's resume ****s all over Calzaghe's from a great height. Anyone who can't see that is overly sentimental about Joe or in complete denial. Whether it's Joe's fault or not he didn't get enough fights against top opposition to prove himself beyond doubt.Comment

Understand the Vegas bit even the business bit but Froch has been well paid for fighting good guys and the public and fans have supported this with PPv and sky. This fight would be in Vegas at 5am and poss. PPv .Given all this find an opponent that we don't already know the result ! Would like to help but wouldn't ppv it mate.Comment

Junior wasn't even that formidable of an opponent for Brian Vera. So, in my opinion unless Froch gets old before they fight it will be an easy win for him.Comment

I agree with Froch and I'm happy if Degale-Froch doesn't happen cuz A) Degale is one of my favorite fighters 2) I don't want Froch to lose at this point cuz it will ruin his legacy and want him to be regarded higher than Calzaghe.
However, it is the same when Froch was WBC mandatory for Calzaghe's titles and he decided not to bother with an up and comer and pursue more lucrative ventures. Same thing, at least now he realizes that, hopefully.
It's the way boxing should be, not this irrational concern about a legacy being ruined by one fight. Froch's legacy can't be touched, win or lose, so he needs to fight Degale and give him the shot he deserves. He has worked his way to a mandatory position, which took years, and now the champion is going to duck him. That sucks. I can't believe Froch is actually going to pull a Calzaghe on Degale.Comment

I've heard people say that a few times about ruining his legacy but the way I see it, if he loses to Degale that's the way it should be in boxing - the older champ loses to the young challenger. It wouldn't effect his legacy at all, people would just say he's past his prime - look how many time roy jones lost and he's still considered a legend, same with Ali - he lost late in his career to a young upcomer then rematched him and won.

Froch fought Groves who was his mandatory. So he's not "pulling a Calzaghe". No one would fight DeGale over Chavez Jr on HBO PPV in Vegas.Comment

In no way should Froch be held in higher regard than Calzaghe! Calzaghe was undefeated with wins over Hopkins, a shot Jones, a prime Lacy, a prime Bika, Eubank and a prime Kessler. Froch on the other hand was beaten by a past his best Kessler as well as Ward and has been outboxed on numerous occasions (Taylor and Groves before they gassed, as well as Dirrell).
Froch may have a better 'resume' as a result of the Super Six but not once has he been the number one in his division, as opposed to Calzaghe who was a 2-weight lineal champion. Calzaghe may have struggled to fight the top Americans in their prime due to being high risk/low reward but there's only one way a fight between Froch and Calzaghe is going.
You just said it yourself he has a better resume. And he clearly does.Comment

Froch didn't hide in Nottingham and milk his title for fruit cake defenses, he went out and earned his respect the hard way. He already is ahead of Calzaghe, but losing at this point can hurt that.Comment

Oh, and DEFAIL has done absolute ****E to earn a Froch fight? SERIOUSLY?
LOL - what has the guy done except get BEAT by Groves! Hahaha... All that **** he talks like he's some worthy challenger, and this clown couldn't even get past Froch victim, GROVES!
REMATCH GROVES, BEAT GROVES, and THEN you'll at least have a legitimate claim to call for the fight...
Untl then, DEFAIL, you're just "the ugly boy" clown who is GROVES'S SON! LOL, HE"S HIS KID!
Also what had Groves done to get a Froch fight?Comment
