That was the dumbest thing Arum probably has ever said about that fight. You're telling me the biggest fight in history, Floyd vs. Manny, villian vs hero, the best fighter of their generation, will Floyd lose his 0, can Manny do it? Order now on HBO/SHOWTIME PPV Floyd vs Manny only at "The temporary place outside."
Get the **** out, that's a terrible idea. It needs to be MGM at an insane fee or huge stadium like MSG or Jerrydome. The biggest fight in history being held in a ****ing blow up tent dome... those high rollers can't wait to sit in dirt and folding chairs ringside.Comment

Not that I don't believe you, I do but where is your source for the deal being made? I didn't know that happened, but what you're saying is NBC is allowing its name on something they don't own?
Showtime has been involved forever without the number #1 guy, they were better without him. Shobox was tossed to the curb and instead we got the Shobox guys going up and fighting Garcia. Showtime was much, much better and while they didn't have known fighters they had some really good fights before Floyd got there. Actually before Espinoza got there and when Ross Greenbrug was still in charege.
Your opinion. They wanted to be the #1 boxing network and they went out and tried to do that. They still have good fights-its just NSB is filled with sh-t posters who judge a fight based on the guys manager and what network its on. Yes, 2014 was a terrible year for showtime IMO.
Bottom line BOA is a lot of the things you have posted appear to be unsubstantiated NSB rumors and BS. The fact is CBS isn't losing money and do not appear to be ready to let Floyd go as of now.
All we know for sure is CBS and Floyd both have "outs" and neither has exercised the out as of now. This suggests they are both happy with where things are-although I'm sure both wanted to sell more.Comment

According to Forbes, who (like you and everyone else, is speculating), he's likely to get up to $200m for the six-fight deal. Up to 250 with PPV revenue (that being amortized over the six sights). So let's say you guys are right and he makes $32m per fight. Pays Maidana $2-3 mil. That's $35m. Then add in about $60m in PPV revenue alone. Another $15m at the gate. Throw in international TV rights and sponsorships, which should cover op expense; marketing, and anything else Showtime might have to shell out. So you're talking about $40-$50m left over. No wonder Espinoza snickers when he hears that they're losing money.
That's what Floyd does best, is the marketing and the reason his fee is so high. He does all the marketing of himself and his fights. It saves Showtime money but it costs Floyd money, as for the sponsors... Floyd doesn't have any. Golden Boy was doing all the sponsoring, not Floyd. They had deals with Golden Boy promotions, not Floyd Mayweather. These are all things Haymon... well not Haymon because he's an advisor, but whoever promotes Floyd has to do.
Anyway, it's obvious Showtime is losing money or not even that but as I stated these are some wealthy people we're talking about. They don't deal with losses, break evens or even small profits, these people want to see double on their investment to make it worth it, at least 50%. You added in extra PPV money from nowhere, then talk about international fee's etc... but that isn't Floyd who does that, it's Showtime and for all we know could very well be part of Floyds $32 million. The contract could very well say $32 million including international sales and a piece of PPV after a million. The fact is we don't know, but what we do know is based off US numbers it doesn't add up. Showtime didn't make this deal and say "Eh, Floyd's an American let's see how well his buys were in Russia, China and Australia bought the fought before passing judgement. No one ever talked about that **** when Floyd fought Canelo, Oscar and Cotto.Comment

Name a stadium that held 45k people at the time? There wasn't one. They can put 100k or more for boxing in Dallas. More people isn't a valid reason.Comment
