dude, obviously they want the biggest fights to be made to maximize profit. But you are confusing trying to maximize profit with being dissatisfied. That's the same bankrupt v broke mistake I cited earlier. They are prepared to pay Floyd, but I think it's obvious this time that they'll only pay for Manny and MAYBE Cotto, otherwise these talks wouldn't be taking place. The $70 million investment, if they can get 2 Manny fights out of it will more than make up what they put it, but it's only worth it in that case. If Floyd doesn't fight Manny or Cotto not only would I be shocked, I doubt, again if it's not one of them two, he even fights on Showtime.
Floyd is as toxic as we will ever be over these last 2 months and nothing from CBS has suggested they were going to dump him. You should be able to admit that.Comment

exactly. CBS believes 2 manny fights will sell far more than anything else so they want the most for their investment. that doesn't mean they are unhappy with the deal or losing money on the deal.Comment

Not that I don't believe you, I do but where is your source for the deal being made? I didn't know that happened, but what you're saying is NBC is allowing its name on something they don't own?GE and US cable TV operator Comcast announced a buyout agreement for the company on December 3, 2009. Following regulatory approvals, the transaction completed on January 28, 2011. Comcast subsequently owned 51% of NBCUniversal while GE owned 49%.
Huh? everything we've read is that the Main Events deal with NBCsports expired and Haymon has a deal in place. Could you be wrong yet again?
Everyone's drawing less on PPV with prices being so high-that said, Floyd is still far and away the #1 guy. So if CBS is going to stay involved with PPV boxing why would they do it without the #1 guy?
Showtime has been involved forever without the number #1 guy, they were better without him. Shobox was tossed to the curb and instead we got the Shobox guys going up and fighting Garcia. Showtime was much, much better and while they didn't have known fighters they had some really good fights before Floyd got there. Actually before Espinoza got there and when Ross Greenbrug was still in charege.Comment

According to Forbes, who (like you and everyone else, is speculating), he's likely to get up to $200m for the six-fight deal. Up to 250 with PPV revenue (that being amortized over the six sights). So let's say you guys are right and he makes $32m per fight. Pays Maidana $2-3 mil. That's $35m. Then add in about $60m in PPV revenue alone. Another $15m at the gate. Throw in international TV rights and sponsorships, which should cover op expense; marketing, and anything else Showtime might have to shell out. So you're talking about $40-$50m left over. No wonder Espinoza snickers when he hears that they're losing money.I did it for him. Floyd purse does fluctuate, his guarantee does not. He is guaranteed 32 million a fight, which would be 1 million buys to cover sorely his purse. That's not even assuming he gets a cut of PPV, which I don't think he would unless it's over 1 million. I hope not anyway otherwise Showtime is dumber than I thought.Comment

well, floyd did retract and apologize for his ray rice comments asap. So he is NOT his own boss. Who signs floyds checks?dude, obviously they want the biggest fights to be made to maximize profit. But you are confusing trying to maximize profit with being dissatisfied. That's the same bankrupt v broke mistake I cited earlier.

That was the dumbest thing Arum probably has ever said about that fight. You're telling me the biggest fight in history, Floyd vs. Manny, villian vs hero, the best fighter of their generation, will Floyd lose his 0, can Manny do it? Order now on HBO/SHOWTIME PPV Floyd vs Manny only at "The temporary place outside."
Get the **** out, that's a terrible idea. It needs to be MGM at an insane fee or huge stadium like MSG or Jerrydome. The biggest fight in history being held in a ****ing blow up tent dome... those high rollers can't wait to sit in dirt and folding chairs ringside.Comment
