Juuuust kidding. Actually if you read the history section regarding the jab comparison with Lennox....a thread I think you posted in, I stated that his jab was technically better than Lewis' jab.

I don't like when I see people exxagerate achievment for the same reason I do not like it when people make sports heroes into villians and heroes. If the net had been around when Ali made what I consider a courageus stand in principle against the war, I can guarantee you that 90% of the herd here would be talking about how unamerican he was, what a traitor he was.

I find it reprehensible that this guy has gotten away with being lauded for fighting ****. I actually respected that he stuck to it, but....I don't respect his holding and lack of activity but I really don't respect that unlike Lewis he won't fight the guys who could beat him! IF HE LOST getting KOed I would stand up for him.... But he always takes the safest route.

Beez tell me another sport where a guy can avoid a challenge and be called a champ? the kansas City Royals were not allowed to avoid the Giants and be called champs were they? Vlad has a history of avoiding the tough fights. Vitali was more open to these fights and you will notice I only occasionally rag on him and when I do I am usually joking.

The path of least resistance is great if your a Taoist...not the heavyweight champion of the world.
glad to see youre unbiased. yea,,,I must admit the clicnhing pisses me off at times too but with the exception of the povetkin fight he throws enough punches in between for me to be able to tolerate it. I really dont agree that hes avoided challenges. I remember him saying he wanted a rematch immediately with sanders at the post fight interview. it never happened as sanders chose vitali instead for the more prestigous belt. brewster was quoted as saying he didnt deserve a rematch and was with don king who would never take a chance of losing to wlad. I really think he did try to get those rematches. as far as ducking his biggest threats I dont think so. haye was considered by many to have a great punchers chance with his speed and power but failed and with the exception of mormeck and pianetta (and a few mandatories),,,hes faced the best he could which I know isnt saying alot. he says he wants the wbc belt and both stiverne and wilder have the power that could make it interesting so we'll see where that goes

Agree with Dwyer on the beauty of those left hooks. Wow! And for the dude who ripped on Dwyer for calling the election wrong come on man. It was a bold call and he got it wrong. Oh well. I give Dwyer **** for his "Tim Bradley era" stuff and his love of all things Tyson Fury, but at least he can articulate his point of view. Agree with it or not. I enjoy his channel.

I enjoy his channel too but I disagree on fury and jennings having the best chance of beating wlad. both guys lack big power and jennings is just much too small. jennings would be one of wlads easiest fights imo. fury at least has size and actually moves fairly well for a big guy but hes just too vulnerable to right hands

Seriously who has he ducked? His brother is the only guy I can think of and that is understandable. You could argue he waited until Brewster was obviously shot before he gave him a rematch. But was the public clamoring for that fight? If anybody states he is ducking Shannon Briggs I know they are trolling and never rely to them on this topic again.

that's not really the point. the point is his opponents are not able to throw punches because he clinches them after he throws a punch or clinches them if they try to step forward and throw a punch. it's cheating.

yeah and they can't clinch him back when he throws because it's either not their style or he's just too big.

It's an A-side receiving preferential treatment and abusing it to the max. He should've lost those belts against Povetkin in Moscow.

I disagree. with the exception of the povetkin fight his clinching wasn't to the point of being foul worthy imo. ali and plenty of other significant fighters have got away with it. it is frustrating,,,I get that but plenty of other good boxers have used that tactic at least to an extent. if wlad had a granite chin id be pissed as hell for him using it but he does it to protect his weakness

if he was warned I don't think he would have continued it. hes not exactly Andrew golota in the brains department. I actually think hed have stopped povetkin if he was forced to fight instead clinch. that short left hook on the inside is murder. that fight was pathetic tho. I admit to it

                    Level of opposition.

Wlad is the same fighter he was 5 years ago, he's just so comfortable against these guys that he can let loose a little.

He knew Pulev had limited power, no head or body movement and no speed so he could take chances with very few worries. Leapai was even worse, he could have fought him with an arm tied behind his back and still dominated.

When Wlad fights a Povetkin or a Haye, he's going to be safety first every time. It doesn't mean he wasn't a better fighter then, just that his opposition was better and he fought more reserved and safely.

I honestly can't see how anyone could make a solid case for today's Wlad being on the same level as the one that fought Chagaev, Peter in both fights or Haye.

He's slower on his feet, punch stats have diminished slightly and punch variation isn't the same.

He's obviously still clearly the best, but I think he looked a bit better a few years ago. Especially his footwork.

I suspect it's because Steward used to train it like a maniac.
