To the TS - I agree Wlad is getting better and better and this is the best version of him, he is more confident now and takes a few more risks earlier in the fight, which is paying off as he can be devastating. It will be for him to control where that line is though and not become overly confident and aggressive and get himself knocked out. It is always a danger with him.
How on Gods green earth can you say what you said first then follow it up with that?? it is ridiculous....leading off with a clinch and leaning on someone is disgusting and looks horrible

Wlad also clinches because it allows him to fall in and nullifies the counter, if he misses or is off balance. He has no inside defence so he has to literally fall into a clinch or grab his opponents arms. If he feels his body momentum is taking him into punching range and he is not in a position to fire a punch himself then he will by default grab his opponent, again to stop himself from getting hit mid range. Plus like I said before he does it to tire the opponent out as well, it's quite ridiculous really.

So lead clinching is looking better then ever?? HELL NO....the fight was good because he was forced to fight and let his hands go...That lead clinching **** has no place in boxing period..none

I thought he kinda fell into the clinch when he missed a jab. I really dont know why he clinches as much either. hes so much better when he throws that short left hook on the inside instead. I guess hes just still weary of getting caught and panicks

He is what he is, those two sentences are not mutually exclusive, he is better now than he was, Pulev was a big improvement from other fights I have seen, in the past Wlad literally leaned on and jabbed fighters until they couldn't stand anymore. So this Wlad is an improvement on himself, I am not saying I agree with his style.

It looked to me like they were both falling into the clinch after missing punches. it was an awckward fight. I didnt think wlad intentionally grabbed onto pulev like he did with povetkin. many of those 38 landed punches were power shots and not many soft punches in there

no they were all initiated by wlad and clearly on purpose.

he also extends his long arms so that he can reach out and grab his opponent if his shorter opponent tries to come forward and throw a power punch he can simply grab him before the punch is ever thrown.

Wlad is a DISGRACE to boxing. Look at the last 2 fights as an example . It made me sick the way he fought. Constantly jumping forward to clinch , constantly holding , afraid to throw a meaningful punch , garbage opponents , what a piece of garbage .

and Pulev just standing there--NO head movement , NO footwork , and his chin up high to be hit by any bum .

                      hes got a nice smile?

Juuuust kidding. Actually if you read the history section regarding the jab comparison with Lennox....a thread I think you posted in, I stated that his jab was technically better than Lewis' jab.

I don't like when I see people exxagerate achievment for the same reason I do not like it when people make sports heroes into villians and heroes. If the net had been around when Ali made what I consider a courageus stand in principle against the war, I can guarantee you that 90% of the herd here would be talking about how unamerican he was, what a traitor he was.

I find it reprehensible that this guy has gotten away with being lauded for fighting ****. I actually respected that he stuck to it, but....I don't respect his holding and lack of activity but I really don't respect that unlike Lewis he won't fight the guys who could beat him! IF HE LOST getting KOed I would stand up for him.... But he always takes the safest route.

Beez tell me another sport where a guy can avoid a challenge and be called a champ? the kansas City Royals were not allowed to avoid the Giants and be called champs were they? Vlad has a history of avoiding the tough fights. Vitali was more open to these fights and you will notice I only occasionally rag on him and when I do I am usually joking.

The path of least resistance is great if your a Taoist...not the heavyweight champion of the world.
