When did Kovalev's team dismiss the possibility? Lying and misquoting again?

Tell Golovkin to fight someone better than the string of opponents he's had.

Kovalev can read and react as the fgith progresses, and doesn't just get his mind "stuck on one gameplan," if you will.

The way Kovalev step-back counter punched Hopkins as Hopkins did his patented, "suck 'em in, and lunge forward with his head down throwing the straight right," that almost ALWAYS gets everybody - well that was just brilliant.

So GGG is more technically sound, but I think Kovalev is a bit trickier, rangier, and more dynamic stylistically - in the subtle things he does. So it evens out, IMO, and they are both on the same "level."

All that said - it's ****** to even debate a potential fight between the two - seeing how GGG is a smallish MW who could likely make 154 fairly healthily; while Kovalev is a HUGE 175'er, who couldn't make 168 without absolutely draining themselves dry.

Kovalev will probably actually move up to cruiser weight after (*IF) he gets Stevenson to fight him, and he clears out the division.
        Good assessment here ^^^^

Kathy Duva came out and said the only way GGG/Kov happens if it's at 175. That's some b*tch ****, sorry. You're saying a guy has to come up to two divisions to face you? That's called dismissing the fight, they didn't even talk about a CW.

On topic, I'm sick of Sanchez. Kovalev got a good win, stfu and stop being salty you didn't get the payday. GGG has options of people to fight like Ward but you guys refuse to move up, that's fine I understand it. But stop talking like you are going to beat everyone in boxing up while constantly saying "only in my division." It's cool to say that but then only talk about people in your division, seriously.

            You guys, honestly?

What do you expect him to say? Kovalev is better than his fighter?

He gave Kovalev credit calling him a skilled fighter, there's nothing wrong with a coach having confidence in his trainee, it's common practice in any sport.

A fighter wants to fight in his own weight division. Yeah, that's some "b*tch ****"

Kovalev is clearly a huge light-heavyweight. Why should he have to go down in weight? If Golovkin wants to fight him, then go up to his weight class. Many fighters throughout history have moved up in weight. It's not unheard of.

Both are beyond awesome and are both in great positions in their careers. Lets leave it at that.

P.S. I read that GGG handled Kovalev his a55 in sparring a while back but I don't read too much into that. Fight night is a whole different animal.

You have to make the fight! GGG fights whoever accepts their $ offer, this is why his hating ass trainer is always saying so and so priced themselves out. Kovalev said Hopkins YES! he can make more $ etc.. I know what this does for my career - GGG fights only one style of opponents, Mexican style. Kovalev is getting different looks. All of the great fighters have had to take short money to get the fights they wanted and the fights they needed to further their career. its a career choice.

He is a guy that only comes every 20 years to loose to Ward.

Nope didn't say fighting in your own division is b*tch ****. I said saying you will only face GGG if he moves up two divisions and don't even consider a CW... b*tch ****. A fan of soccer should know about b*tch **** more than anyone, come on now.
