Pulev is garbage; the HW div. is trash.

It's abit disappointing to see "fans" go in hard at Wlad like this. It's unfair he gets all this stick, people need to face the facts, he is almost touching 40' has a substantial amount of KO wins in his victories and keeping in top condition all year round. I don't care if he's on HGH or whatever so are many other HW's. The simple reasoning behind all the hate he receives is due to his nationality. Had he been American so many of you would be sucking his left bollock. Let it go the guys a legend, it's not his fault every up and coming HW is disposed of by him in ordinary fashion.
The short left hook he was throwing was a thing of beauty, 9/10 top boxers would be floored by that.

First off, many of the people in this thread say Pulev was bad, not Wlad.
Second of all, you're embarrassing yourselves bringing race and colour into it. The main reason people don't like Wlad is because he's not very interesting to watch, most of the times.
It's a ****** myth that people wouldn't like a white heavyweight champion when history has proved that white heavyweights, regardless of nationality have always been extremely popular. This goes all the way back to John l Sullivan, James J Jeffries, Jimmy Braddock, George Carpentier all the way to Henry Cooper, Jerry Quarry and Gerry Cooney.
It's simply a very uneducated and hateful excuse to use, when you can't fathom how some people do not find it attractive having two big guys in the middle of the ring without headmovement, no footwork with both of their hands in the air almost like this:
Before one of them lands a jab.
It has nothing to do with nationality or colour and saying so is completely ******. A guy like GGG is from the same part of the world, but extremely popular. Why is that? Kovalev? Kostya Tszuy?
How come these guys were popular?

Wlad just doesn't do it for me. He's still clinching but even when he doesn't abuse it and wins by KO, it's still lame AF IMO. And ppl bring up race but forget that most Klitschko bashers are fans of GGG. And it's because he is an exciting killer. Nobody cares that he's white or a Eastern European. He's a beast. I even like Lomachenko more than Klitschko.Last edited by Bigg Rigg; 11-16-2014, 04:53 AM.Comment

Wladimir Klitschko
Kubrat Pulev
Alexander Povetkin
Bermane Stiverne
Chris Arreola
David Haye
Deontay Wilder
Bryant Jennings
Mike Perez
Tyson Fury
Dereck Chisora
Carlos Takam
Tony Thompson
Anthony Joshua
and more
That is very comparable with the 90's division which was also stacked.
No, it really isn't.Comment

Yeah that was a great era.
Notice you took an entire decade of boxers there though whilst I only listed currently active fighters?
So to my list you can add in Samuel Peter, Chris Byrd, Eddie Chambers, Sultan Ibragimov, Ruslan Chagaev etc etc etc.
Wlad also fought Rahman & Mercer etc.
You can also include Vitali Klitschko and all his WK era opponents now too, since you included opponents like Moorer and Bowe which Lenny didn't fight so they are relevant by your standards too.
You see?
The 90's, 00's and 10's are closely level in quality.
And just for example, Moorer, who beat Holyfield, who could he really beat from my loriginal list?
I'd say nobody!
You don't think Moorer could beat anybody from your other list? Now that's funny.Comment

I'm surprised at the amount of hate surrounding this victory. I'm not a Wlad fan, but he dismantled the #1 ranked heavyweight with some really precise power punching. I thought Pulev had a good shot coming into this fight, but every time he landed a good punch, Wlad answered with something that put him on the seat of his pants.
Very dominant victory over a good pro with a vast amateur pedigree. Wlad has some great opportunities to put the finishing touches on his career with the challenges that await around the corner.Comment

90s HWs were roided to the hilt, bunch of cheats for the most part. They don't deserve to be talked up.
Is Pulev garbage? we don't know, you're just using the eye test against an all time great heavyweight, we need to see more of him.
He was good enough to dominate America's best heavyweight, although granted that isn't saying a great deal.Comment
