wlad doesn't jab to the body. if anything he feinted a clinch then came up with the left hook. pulev was too fat and immobile to actually show any boxing skill like the ability to avoid a punch. you know such as moving your head, moving your feet, leaning one way or the other. his defense consists of holding his hands up in a I surrender position and hoping the other guy doesn't throw punches. wlad has the same defense actually its just he holds his opponent before they can fire back at him.

The criticism of wlad in this thread just comes off as mindless hate. I've criticized him plenty in the past when it has been justified ... like the horrible povetkin fight for instance. But this time imo he put on a good show, came out pretty aggressively and put a top contender, who came out hard, in his place ... fast. If he fought like he did last night all the time it would be fantastic for the sport.

I think people are giving Wladimir credit alright, but his opposition has been fairly poor. Pulev was Wladimir biggest test since David Haye, and that was 3 and a half years ago. (I find it hard to think of the Povetkin fight as a test, the referee let Wladimir hold and clinch throughout the entire fight.)

Mormeck, Pianeta and the Leapai's were Wladimir competition in those 3.5 years. Not Wladimir's fault, but that was the competition.
