Kova is great and I am a fan but until he can undress and beat up a young sturdy contender who is an elite fighter that way Zaghe did Kessler we can't just annoint him as the best of all time.

People forget that Zaghe dealt with Bika's crazy style. I thought Bika had a great performance against Ward losing by 2-3 rounds maximum.

I think Calzaghe would win a very close decision.

Waiting for that idiot daggum now to discredit Kessler, maybe compare him to Kelson Pinto.

Polarizing as he is, Calzaghe is a difficult fight for almost anyone. But right now I can't really pick against Kovalev since he has proven he won't fall apart late in the fight against seasoned competition. When a guy with his frightening power can go 12 rounds and follow a game plan, he's the man until someone else is.

yea,,,kovalev is a beast. I cant believe how poised he looked. against an experienced cagey guy like hops even if he was old. that was a great performance

He went 12 against a 50 year old who throws 4 punches a round. Just saying....

And everyone knew that going in, yet so many still though he'd be very vulnerable. Of course it isn't like going 12 with Matthew Saad Muhammad, but every indication so far is a good one.

He shut out the man who made Calzaghe look foolish and scared him into retirement without facing another serious threat. Predictions ranged from Hopkins schooling Kovalev, to the fight ending in DQ, to serious Hopkins haters thinking Bernard would be KO'd. No one thought a guy who had never gone past 8 rounds would shut out Hopkins over 12. Try taking off the jingoistic goggles for a minute.
