Should Hopkins Retire Or Keep Fighting?

Even at 50 he's still in the Top 3 at light heavyweight and has shown he'll get in the ring with anyone, time and time again.

Should Hopkins retire or should he keep on fighting?

Nothing left to prove, he's done everything there is to accomplish.

      He needs to retire.

Throwing 111 punches in 12 rounds.

      He's too old to fight.

Its what his trainer used to say "he did everything in boxing besides take a beating"...well he just did...He needs to retire, if he does fight he needs to stay away from big punchers before he take permanent damage

Personally I think he can beat Stevenson or even win a title at SMW if he's able to get down.

But he's 49 years old, I'm sure most of us have Dads around that age so we know they're not really supposed to be taking punches from prime beasts 20 years younger. He'd do well to put his health first at this point.

Almost 50, a lot of money in the bank, a post-career role in the sport at GBP and a place in the history books. Plus he still talks as clearly as ever, why take anymore risks when you consider how the likes of Toney, Holyfield, Hearns and others sound now.

He deserves a rest now. But it would have been nice if he could retire on his terms, and maybe his last fight should be announced with this is my last fight.
Maybe 50 years of age might be a good age, someone might come along that BH thinks he can beat, that guy wasn't kovalev though.

I see him taking a couple more lucrative fights after this, I'm sure Adonis Stevenson will be on the table quite soon and I think Hopkins could take it or he could move down and fight Carl Froch or Julio Cesar Chavez, Jr. He'll have his options. Take a couple paydays and if he gets a win over any of those 3 just retire and call it a career.
