This seemed like a straight forward answer at first. I like fighters to get out when the going's relatively good and Kovalev has just tipped that balance.

But the lure of being a 50 year old world champion could be difficult for him to resist. If he's gonna do that then his best bet is at 168lbs.

It's not my health I'm day dreaming with though, going out at 50 as a world champion would be mesmerising but getting out now without any added risks to his health would be far wiser.

I think he could fight once more and go out with a win. He can still beat top 10 guys, he just has to avoid murderous punchers who could do real damage.

He doesn't take that much punishment anyway, so it's not the same risk for him as it is for most other fighters. But ultimately it's still a risk, and if he got out now he'd be getting out well ahead. But maybe he wants a little bit more.

Fight a journey man in his home town and retire.

its time to get out the game. if he had one last fight just to go out on a positive note thats all good but his run is over.

I think he'll try to make one more fight happen, and that's either Froch or Stevenson.

He should retire because what's money and legacy without health? health comes first and it's not healthy for him to get punched in the head like this at this age.

retire. He has absolutely nothing more to prove.

I should have liked to see Bernard Hopkins winning against Stevenson... B-Hop is still capable to beat that guy... There would be a great gate at the Bell Centre, Montreal... A last big purse for Hopkins.

It's true he's accomplished more than anyone else in the sport if you consider the age factor but then with the age he really sets new records whenever he fights if you know what i mean.. If he fights for another world title and wins he'll beat the world record which he already beat, but he'll set the bar even higher like he's talked about in a few interviews. Basically everything Hopkins does now as a fighter is historic, win or lose.

Hopkins need to retire, for the simple fact that the gameplan, to diffuse "The Alien", is now there for everyone to analyse.

Hopkins no longer seems to have the energy and stamina in his legs to force the fight, especially when the opponent refuses to come to him.

He's good enough to keep fighting, but there's no real benefit to gain.
