Hopkins is difficult to watch because of how much he's regressed in comparison to what he once was, I want him to retire while he still has his health intact. It ain't worth it, arguably the greatest of this era.

What did he have to prove before the Kovalev fight?

Actually, scrap that, what has he had to prove for the past decade?

Yes he should but he won't because he didn't lose any honor. He's 49 years old and went the distance with a much younger and stronger man who couldn't retire him.

However, time has obviously robbed him of his speed, power and energy. Had he been 12 or 13 years younger he would have performed much better but now his body can no longer do what his mind tells it to do.

I think he needs to hang them up, that 12th round was scary to watch. Hopkins has always prided himself in taking very little punishment and he really took a beating last Saturday. I remember Hopkins a few years ago was saying guys who get into slug-fests end up talking like Elmer Fudd and Arturo Gatti. Well Ex, take your own advice now, nothing else to prove.

Also, there is no chance in hell he beats Stevenson, I know you guys all currently hate Stevenson right now but put your bias and hate aside and be realistic for a minute. It would look a lot like the second Chad Dawson fight except with Hopkins getting stunned a few times.

It's clear he's done as divisional king with Kovalev around, but one more fight and going out on a win wouldn't be a bad thing.

            He can still beat Adonis.

If he keeps fighting after that he just cheapens his own career along with the careers of his former opponents, just like Roy Jones did.

I'm of the opinion that he can beat Stevenson but even if he does he still hasn't and cannot beat the man at 175 in Kovalev so it won't do anything for his legacy.

I really hope he retires, and enjoys his life after boxing.

He should retire, that fight was had to watch.
