I saw a shop worn 49 yr old Hopkins go 12 rounds with the 'most feared puncher' in boxing. Although Kovalev out-boxed Hopkins, he held a massive speed advantage, something he wouldn't have against Ward. Therefore I feel Kovalev's only chance of beating Ward is by KO and after last night, I feel Ward can definitely take the fight 12 rounds. It doesn't take a boxing aficionado like yourself to draw that conclusion.

... That what I said earlier (somewhere here): Kovalev KOs Ward, while SOG is jumping forward (as fast as he can)... This in case Ward shows up for such a fight. (In case Ward chooses to stay in the distance you have the last night blueprint).

I favor Dawson he kept his distance and dominated Hopkins, made him look old and silly.
          Ward wants nothing of Dawson.

Ward is a coward, nothing has changed. The reason he is hiding is because he has both Golovkin and Kovalev cornering him from both divisions, he has no escape. He was active for years then all of the sudden these two pop up and he dissapears lol.

I don't like Ward, I will go with the worst of intentions into the fight if he ever mans up and fights either. I'd prefer if it was Golovkin. I want to see him get beat up like Margarito did against Pacquiao, but a billion times worse.

you cant lose to what doesn't exist

but in all seriousness, how many in here actually think that Ward woudl take the fight? He's waiting for Chavez or a fat GGG

It would mean moving to 175. Ward won't do it.

Ward need one, maybe two, bouts at 175 before stepping there with Krusher.
Kovalov needs to unify the LHW Belt, which means Stevenson would have to actually
suck it up and fight him.

Assuming the above scenarios, this could be a mega-fight that could draw in those casual fans that only see PPV fights with Mayweather or Pacman.

Play up the USA vs Russia angle. Clean cut American vs the dirty Commie. Etc.

We need Don King to promote this one.

Sergey Kovalev is not a big enough name for Andre Ward. Besides, what's Kovalev done to earn a fight with the prince? He beat an old washed up fighter and a bunch of nobodies.

It's actually insulting to Andre Ward to even mention a fight between him and Kovalev. Andre Ward is P4P #2 fighter in world (he probably should be #1); is Sergey even on that list?

Andre Ward cleaned out the SMW division - what else does he have to ****in' prove?
