If only ward would get out of his armchair and ACTUALLY fight......Anyone. He seems to have retired. Without telling anyone he has retired.

yea but what would be wards advantages in this fight?

he wont take a fight unless has has a good amount of advantages, that's his secret to success, not overcoming risks

atm i really dont know who'd win, haven't thought about it enough, im iffy about kovalevs chin for starters that even a feather duster like ward with his left hook could hurt him, but at the same time i dont think ward has anywhere near the chin of hopkins, but he'll also be quicker with his jumping in, really dont know at the mo

I'm no fan of Wards style but I think it would cause Kovalev fits.

I still think Kovalev knocks Stevenson out. However, last night also showed me Hopkins would have beaten Kovalev on points comfortably if this fight took place in 2006.

I expected a lot more from Kovalev last night.
You definitely are a "boxing savvy" -- you watch one fight but you see another fight... Typical for biased casual fans.

Not any different, Ward decisions him. May not be a fan but I've always respected Kovalev, I respect him even more in that he fought a very disciplined fight against Hopkins. That said Ward is an entirely different animal than a 50 year old Hopkins. Ward has exceptionally fast feet when it comes to closing the gap, I think he'll frustrate Kovalev from up close.

I predicted Kov would beat Bhop...but i also have new found respect for Kovalev as a boxer...

However i did see flaws, Kov doesnt like to be hit, BHOP made his legs stiffen on at least 2 occasions, and we all know BHOP is not a big puncher, not at this age especially

Kov can be hurt and can be hit, therefore i would pick Ward to beat him, who is much faster and tricky than Bhop and has a decent punch.

Ward has fast hands but his feet aren't fast. Everytime Mikkel took a step back Ward was falling over his feet trying to duck, headbutt and clinch. That clinch game is great but Kovalev is too strong and nasty on the inside, Ward doesn't want to be there, he'll get hurt there.

Best thing Ward can do is use this amazing power jab of his and see if that will freeze Kovalev from going full blast on him and chip little by little by doing what he does best, go in with the jab at angles and blade his body.

lol, the night after ANYONE wins, they get annointed as the greatest boxer EVER, this guy just fought a 50yr old man, he's a ko artist and couldnt put an old man out. He beat an old man, that couldnt pull the trigger, now he's ali
Ward will stop him, then break his foot off in GGG ass. Remember pavlik, lol. People hype up certain people, a boxer destroys these brawlers time after time

Kovalev stops Ward in a dramatic manner -- exactly when SOG jumps forward...

there was a right hand i think at the halfway point of the fight, but the left in the 12th was a trip

I still get mad of that SOG bs.

                      WTF?

We don't call it USOA we call it USA.

                      He should be SG.

                      Shouldn't be capitalizing O.

It should be an initialism not an acronym.

He don't know doe. He boxs for a living.
