I love B-Hop. I was rooting for him and picked him to win. I'm upset, but Kovalev is the truth. Hopkins felt his power early and wanted no part. I dont want to hear/see excuses. Hopkins never stood a chance. Kovalev is legit.

      Yep exactly, good post.

Hopkins didn't make any excuses, he said the better man won, he tried but Kovalev was obviously too much for him to handle.

Still, he was brave enough to step in the ring, he challenges himself, unlike so many of today's generation of fighters who take the path of least resistance and or hide behind powerful managers.

I forget who said it on boxing scene. Someone said it a few years ago or so, that Hopkins, while genetically amazing, is nothing more than a circus act at this point in his career. I think this fight showed that.

I'm convinced that you could hit B-Hop 100 times with a baseball bat at full force and he would still be standing in front of you smiling. That's the freak show part of him!

It's a sight to see at his age in the ring, but it doesn't get you wins.

I was calling a B-Hop win for this fight, thinking that Kovalev was gonna be like every other opponent, getting frustrated against the master. But Kovalev showed great discipline and self control.

Hopkins still showed superb defense in this fight through out the 12 rounds. Once again, that's the freak show. But he couldn't get his offense going because Kovalev was so discipline in his game plan of steady pressure. That was the story of this fight.

Thought Kov was going to knock Hopkins out and have a feeling he could have done so, if he lacked respect and really put the foot on the gas pedal. I'm going to say good win but at the same time Hopkins needs to call it a day.

Well, I guess the realms of possibility can only be stretched so far.

I've got a mountain of respect for the man for daring to endeavour.

Kovalev's performance will cause a mass migration. Expect the division's aspiring titlists to start heading North or South.

That was one hell of a performance.

Kovalev was impressive. Easy, easy work. Hopkins fought that fight scared of the power, like everyone else.

There's a new king at 175, and I don't see how anyone can dispute it.

Just finished watching the fight. First props to Kovalev he was definitely the better man tonight, Was rooting for B-Hop but it was never close he felt the power early and fought a cautious fight, Kovalev looked real good too. Result was never in doubt

Props to Hopkins for running towards this challenge especially at his age Unlike a certain LHW with a belt and for Going the full 12 and finishing on his feet. Salute to the legend still my favorite active boxer.

Still f.u.cki..ng sucks though really wanted B-Hop to pull it off.

Kovalev showed too much respect. Had he went all out earlier he would have taken Hopkins out of there. Hopkins was very cautious and scared which is why he threw so little. Kovalev didn't exploit this because out of respect.
I said here that I hope to watch a nice friendly match -- which eventually happened in a certain extent. Kovalev showed the respect that a legend deserved... With an exception: in the 12th, as Hopkins tried to mock him up and Kovalev immediately punished him... It looked like they had a kind of "gentlemen's agreement"...
