Every fighter wants to fight at the MSG. But the taxes in NY might not allow such a big fight to happen there. Atlantic City is becoming a ghost town.
These two guys are going to jockey for position and will not give home advantage up that quickly. Canelo is popular enough that his fans will be in forces where ever he fights.
This fight should be in Vegas and is big enough that it won't need the help like the 5 de Mayo mexican holiday.Comment

Cotto took a better offer and will receive more money than the 10 mil they offered him last year. I would've rather seen the Canelo fight but Cotto's management team worked this out pretty well.Comment

It would be funny if he let Canelo have the date, but ends up fighting Cotto on PR day instead. It would be a very hollow victory for HBO if this happensComment

The fight most likely happens in cinco de mayo weekend at the cowboys stadium. Cotto is looking to max out his money. And he knows that fighting a mexican on a mexican holiday will get good ppv revenue if they get good numbers, which is expected to (unless you are a butthurt floyd fan who is worried about the may date for some reason).
Forget about Mexican venues (Mexico, Vegas, Texas) and forget about the Mexican holiday. The legendary Puerto Rican is NOT having that. Arum already gave you guys the hints that it ain't happening.
If the fight happens it'll be in New York, and/or somewhere not typical like a Chicago. But for the most part, expect New York. But Texas?Vegas?

The prices would be cheaper for a larger venue and Dallas doesn't have the high rollers that would be willing to pay 2,000 dollars per seat like they do at the MGM grand.Comment

Sorry man, but there is no way in hell Cotto is going to agree to Texas. He might as well fight in Mexico then, because the venue will be jam packed with Mexicans. And Cotto is NOT having that!

I been singing this same tune for many weeks now. I was the first to say here that everyone will see them discussing over venues rather than Vegas. Do the research. I've said from the beginning, Vegas is out of the question. That it's not happening in Vegas. Ok, for argument's sake, it could. But it's VEEEERY unlikely. And then as the weeks progressed, slowly but surely the hints of it not happening in Vegas start to show up. I told a bunch of people, that Cotto is going to give everyone a RUDE AWAKENING. And it's going to be funny the way Cotto handles everyone!
If Arum was 100% convinced it was happening in Vegas, he would never in his right mind mention they are looking at any other venues. Never! And he would NEVER dare say the following:
Bob Arum: Las Vegas is a great venue to hold a fight but it's not the only venue and if boxing is to survive and thrive in this country it has to go to venues other than just Las Vegas.Comment
