So how are negotiations proceeding between the camps of Miguel Cotto (39-4, 32KOs) and Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez (44-1-1, 31KOs), who are primed to hook up in a blockbuster pay-per-event in 2015?

"It's very preliminary, now," said Eric Gomez, the matchmaker for Golden Boy Promotions on Tuesday at the Conga Room at L.A. Live, which handles Alvarez.

Pretty sure they began last summer. He was supposed to fight Cotto since before the Mayweather fight. Cotto was shook tho.

God please make Floyd be compelled to compete for May 2.

Because there is only one opponent that trumps Cotto vs Canelo.

If only that would happen. Cotto/Canelo is massive but if May/Pac gets made It would be great for the sport. Then you can have the Cotto fight on The Puerto Rican parade weekend.

The Venue is what is holding this crap up.

            Places the fight won't happen

            Cowboys Stadium
            AT&T Center
            Toyota Center
            American Airlines Center
            Madison Square Garden
            Barclays Center
            Boardwalk Hall
            Staples Center
            Stub Hub Arena
            Mexico
            Puerto Rico

Places the fight could or should happen

            MGM Grand not in May
            Mandalay Bay
            Thomas and Mack center
            United Center
            Joe Louis Arena

Personally, I think that if it doesn't happen at the MGM Grand, It will happen at the Thomas and Mack Center.

I would rather see GGG retire Cotto.

Arum doesn't have the resources to stage those two cards on one night. Trust me, he's not looking in Mayweather's direction. Not when he can reap the benefits of Pacquiao-Vargas.
