The question is who's going to promote Floyd next fight. Mayweather promotions? Will they be ready to handle an event of that size by next May? And Floyd not fighting Cotto. Arum is handling Cotto until he retires and Cotto will probably make more fighting Canelo anyway.

The only way this would be a problem is if Cotto wants to fight in May instead of June like he usually does. Why would he concede this to Canelo and risk losing out on money competing with a Mayweather card?

Regardless of which card you think will do better competing on the same day, that card would make more money on it's own date. If Cotto is the A side then they will probably fight in June, if it is Canelo (Cotto should be getting more than 50/50 split since he is the champ) then the will fight in May.

I expect Floyd to have a better card (his May surprise), so lets just wait and see what happens.

what Battle one is Mexican and the other is not I got Canelo fighting on May no matter what its his country independence day. Mayweather should fight on the 4 of July

Cotto got 8-10 mil with a PPV percentage when he fought Floyd, and got a gaurantee of 7 mil for his last fight.

Canelo made 5 mil vs Floyd, 1.25 mil vs Angulo, and 3 mil vs Lara

Cotto turned down $10 mil to fight Canelo the first time so that is probably why the negotiations are taking so long.
