No way is any fight happening on the 2nd of May 2015 if Mayweather is fighting on that day. Either way it's a loss for both networks if all the fighters involve insist on fighting on that date.

I would watch Canelo-Cotto over Floyd-anyone not named Manny. That being said, they aren't dumb enough to stage two major PPV's on the same day. SOMEONE will bow out.

If Cotto vs Canelo come to terms, Mayweather vs anybody will have to bow out. As you said, it would have to be Manny to make any sense BUT that would not happen for numerous reasons. One, Arum is in control of both Cotto and Manny and the other big promoter is in charge of Canelo.
Secondly, Roach trains both Manny and Cotto and finally there are the 2 networks (HBO and Showtime - Floyd vs ?) in the mix. So too many variables going against Floyd here.


Of course Floyd is still saying OK because he has a guarantee ..... then again I doubt that he wants to see his numbers drop any further. Still, less of a risk for Floyd short term but may affect his long term if another PPV does well or better than him on the same night. Who it affects the most is Showtime. It can hurt them big time!

At the end of the day this might be the closest outcome. The only problem is would Canelo fight on a Puerto Rican parade? Just as how Cotto might not want to fight on a Mexican day cinco de mayo.

If Floyd is only selling 700-800k and Showtime loses money when he sells less than 1.2 or whatever, how much do they lose when he goes up against Cotto Canelo and sells 400-500k???? Showtime is ******, they need to tell him to fall back. Floyd dont care cuz he still gets his $30+ million but ****, he's the only person making overthere when u think about it.

canelo can barely get 300k buys and this is AFTER facing the biggest draw. floyd and pac started getting huge numbers once they fought oscar (even tho they won) mexicans are boxings biggest demographic in america right? so whos buying all the ppvs?
