Toney's defense is too good, GGG wont land clean on him, he will get taken to school. If GGG has a weakness, he has pretty slow hands. Toney will outwork and counter him easy.

So far though, we have an undefeated GGG who has been completely dominant. Nothing we've seen suggests he loses to Toney, but nothing suggests he beats him either. We'll know when he fights a Toney-calibur fighter. Only one out there imo is WardComment

There's no need for assumptions or baseless accusations with James Toney, the man tested positive for steroids twice and was stripped of his world title.
He's a cheat, his resume is worthless and his "prime" is fantasy just like those other cheats.
If boxing was properly regulated they'd have all had their records invalidated and been slapped with life bans but it isn't so we still have people talking up their tainted careers.Last edited by Weebler I; 10-30-2014, 03:18 AM.Comment

Is there like an equivalent of the Bat signal that someone fires up and all these guys snap into action to defend their fellow "slicks"?
I actually think if anyone has the style to beat GGG it's Toney, but he did get busted for steroids. Golovkin didn't. How is that an assumption?
You can't just arbitrarily reverse that situation then throw a race card smoke grenade to cover your escape.Last edited by ////; 10-30-2014, 03:05 AM.Comment

On this one, I would have to agree with James Toney. While Golovkin is an offensive machine, Toney was a master counter puncher with a slippery defense and very hard to hit cleanly. He would have slipped most of Gennady's power punches and made him pay dearly each and every time he opened up offensively.Comment

For all James Toney's detractors, the fact is he didn't started juicing until he moved up to the Heavyweight division. That's when his body had begun to break down from it with the torn biceps and ruptured achilles heels. At the Middleweight divisions however, his only troubles were staying in tip-top fighting shape.Comment
