Other fighters have moved up one weight class to create opportunity for a big fight. Golovkin is supposed to be this big puncher, but I'm starting to doubt how well he would carry his power at super middle weight when his people won't even fight a contender in the 168 pound division.

GGG is still too old to be the face of boxing. He turns 33 in just a few months and has still not fought any big name. He also needs a rival.

Sure they could but they first must learn and be willing to speak the English language so they can communicate with the U.S. television audience, which is the mecca of boxing. If they are willing to speak the English language, then it would not only help boost their marketability but also making their earning opportunities limitless; Especially with the casual fan.

To be the face of boxing one must fight all over the world. Muhammad Ali fought in America Africa the uk
Tyson fought in America the uk and japan.
Floyd got away with it because he fought the best fighters peoples countries had to offer. But if floyd travelled he would be a much bigger celebrity.

PAC did it already what do you mean almost? Lol dude is the highest grossing foreign ppv boxing star in history. He as of right now is the only foreign boxer in history who you can call a mega star.
It will be hard for ggg or Canelo, canelo losing to Floyd hurt him, plus he doesn't speak English. But if Canelo beat Floyd or got a draw, and spoke English and him being white he would have been huge. Seems his only pppv come from Mexican Americans and America in General already lost interest once he lost.
Ggg has the potential but he has to be marketed an promoted well because he has a weak divison, and no real opponent to really make a mega fight unless cancel or cotto are willing to face him.

I think not only is it possible-its probable. Other than Broner, I don't see an AMerican fighter who has the in and out of ring ability to become the biggest star in the sport. Maybe wilder but he just isn't that good.
Right now, Canelo, chavez jr. and GGG all are more likely to fill the void when Floyd retires, same as manny did when Floyd retired the 1st time.
