Not really, there are levels to boxing. Once you become a draw you have to pull numbers. Maidana is no longer on the come up. He isn't grinding to get a title shot, he is at that level.
Thurman is still at that level where he has to grind to get recognized. Unfortunately he isn't catching on as the casual fanbase for some reason refuses to recognize him. This is in light of him winning fights in terrific fashion. For some reason Porter was able to build a base with his knockout victories but Thurman just can't.
Now he is stuck calling out the money makers because he needs that recognition, but they don't want to fight him because he brings nothing to the table. Outside of hardcore fans Thurman is a ghost, no one knows who he is.
It's pretty obvious that you're a Pac hater, who won't give him credit for anything. I admire Mayweather's skill, but I think he's a cherry-picker, who puts retiring undefeated above everything. Maidana is a decent fighter who is very tough, but he followed Mayweather around their second fight, never cutting off the ring. He also didn't go balls-out like he did in their first fight, to conserve energy. Problem is, he conserved energy until it was too late to expend it. He's a slow, plodding fighter, while Manny is fast with his feet and hands. Like I said, if the fight ever happens and you want to bet, let me know.
I don't give him credit because he does not deserve the praise he gets. I don't have a problem with him he is just no where near as good as what he is marketed.
Also if by cherry pick you mean takes the most profitable fight out there then yes Floyd is a cherry picker.
Maidana is not slow or plodding, he cuts the rings off very well. He could not catch a Floyd that concentrated on not being caught, no big deal. He still managed to set up good offense on him regardless. He would not have to do that against Pacquaio because he would come right to him.
It always quickly turns into TBE is better than Paqciao arguments; floydiots incantating the same mantra: Floyd da best fought better opposition, Floyd da best is the best, blah blah. So then why is he avoiding the biggest money fight of this generation? Why is he so scared of losing to an inferior opponent? What is he afraid of?
He is the biggest smoke and mirrors fighter alive maybe that has something to do with it.
Look at it like this, Manny is supposed to be an elite fighter with tremendous speed and punching power right?
He fought Marquez four times, trained for him four times, study tape on him four times, and still gets caught with the same counter shots he had been seeing over nearly 48 rounds.
That entire time JMM was only getting older, and slower, yet four times in fighting him with every advantage you can ask for including youth and he still could not beat him decisively.
That is not an elite fighter.
His entire career is beating up fighters on there down slide. The last time he fought an elite fighter in their true form he lost to Morales. The rest has been Top Rank yes man.
It is no coincidence he has yet to fight a good WW.
So pacquiao somehow stayed young??? Thats the reason why pacquiao left his old promoter, cuz the promoter went and granted morales pillow gloves for pacquiao, or did you forget what happened in the rematch? Funny, morales never asked ANY OF HIS PREVIOUS OPPONENTS TO WEAR PILLOW GLOVES. He only did that, cuz since he lost to barrera twice, to "outbox" pacquiao and say that he "defeated" the man who beat barrera. Looks like you are just another casual fan.

POOR GUY NEEDS A BREAK-OUT FIGHT-I LOVE THE GUY!-I THINK HE'LL BE THE TOP GUY EVENTUALLY.
I don't give him credit because he does not deserve the praise he gets. I don't have a problem with him he is just no where near as good as what he is marketed.

Interesting clip. You notice how Mayweather resorted to running & Maidana failed to cut off the ring; electing to follow him around instead? Pacquiao would run circles around Maidana, tattooing him in the process. Also, you can embed the code to these videos, instead of copying the links.
Serious question, and I am glad you brought that up. How does the boxing public let slide that his fights are carefully calculated moves against fighters they see have clearly lost their teeth?
Observe the following:
Did the general public fall deaf when Freddy Roach declared that Oscar was using an I.V. and gave up doing road work (running) so they knew if they fought him they would beat him no problem? He came out and said they were fighting him because he was so far faded. The exact same thing he just did with Cotto and Martinez. How is this fight even held in such high regard, will remain a mystery? Why is this fact ignored?
Let us not forget Shane Mosley who after knocking out Antonio Margarito chased Manny across the country damn near looking to land a fight and he was told this and I quote "Shane came to the gym twice to ask me to let him fight Manny," Roach says. "I told him no both times, and both times for the same two reasons: First, there isn't enough money there, and second, you're too good a fighter." Source- Los Angeles Times.
Manny went on to fight Josh Clottey, after telling Shane there is no money in fighting him they went on to fight Josh Clottey..........let that soak in. Absorb that logic for a second.
As we all know Shane went on to fight Floyd and got made to look like a fool, then all of the sudden, dun dun duuuunn, Manny agrees to fight the clearly faded Shane Mosley, I wonder why? Hmmmmm?
Then we have the ever infamous eighth title fight at 154 ahem...cough against Margarito. Now as boxing fans know Sergio Martinez was the 154 pound title holder at the time. Now it would make since that Manny go up and fight Sergio for his belt right? I mean he is the champ after all. Floyd went up three times and fought the actual champs for their belts right, I mean that's how it's done. Not for Manny Pacquaio though, not only did they strip Sergio, but after Sergio declared he was still able to make 154, and had intentions of trying for the fight, they made up a belt for Manny to fight for and threw him in with Margarito....DAMN
It does not get more fake than Manny Pacquaio period.
You are too funny. Pacquiao first fight at ww was against cotto, in late 2009. Mosley actually had a fight coming up with berto, but because of the earthquake in haiti that was cancelled, thats when the floyd-mosley talks quickly turned up. Funny after his fight with floyd, mosley was magically "clearly faded". If thats so, that means that floyd beat the pulp outta him right??? hahahahaha
As for the 154 lbs belt hahahahahah learn some history. He moved up weight and fought pavlik. Winning the wbo belt. Now he had both the wbo belts in LMW and MW. He decided to stay at 160, so he was stripped of the wbo LMW, which became vacant. Which pacquiao and margarito fought over. He also vacated the wbc LMW belt as well, so he can stay as the wbc MW champ. "made up a belt" hahahahaha
