He needs to get back to that.

    Start with Canelo.

Serious question, and I am glad you brought that up. How does the boxing public let slide that his fights are carefully calculated moves against fighters they see have clearly lost their teeth?

    Observe the following:

Did the general public fall deaf when Freddy Roach declared that Oscar was using an I.V. and gave up doing road work (running) so they knew if they fought him they would beat him no problem? He came out and said they were fighting him because he was so far faded. The exact same thing he just did with Cotto and Martinez. How is this fight even held in such high regard, will remain a mystery? Why is this fact ignored?

Let us not forget Shane Mosley who after knocking out Antonio Margarito chased Manny across the country damn near looking to land a fight and he was told this and I quote "Shane came to the gym twice to ask me to let him fight Manny," Roach says. "I told him no both times, and both times for the same two reasons: First, there isn't enough money there, and second, you're too good a fighter." Source- Los Angeles Times.

Manny went on to fight Josh Clottey, after telling Shane there is no money in fighting him they went on to fight Josh Clottey..........let that soak in. Absorb that logic for a second.

As we all know Shane went on to fight Floyd and got made to look like a fool, then all of the sudden, dun dun duuuunn, Manny agrees to fight the clearly faded Shane Mosley, I wonder why? Hmmmmm?

Then we have the ever infamous eighth title fight at 154 ahem...cough against Margarito. Now as boxing fans know Sergio Martinez was the 154 pound title holder at the time. Now it would make since that Manny go up and fight Sergio for his belt right? I mean he is the champ after all. Floyd went up three times and fought the actual champs for their belts right, I mean that's how it's done. Not for Manny Pacquaio though, not only did they strip Sergio, but after Sergio declared he was still able to make 154, and had intentions of trying for the fight, they made up a belt for Manny to fight for and threw him in with Margarito....DAMN

It does not get more fake than Manny Pacquaio period.

So lets look at this objectively.

What has Maidana ever shown to suggest he would not walk through and land on Manny? Or that he can't set traps on fast fighters? Better yet fast intelligent boxers?

What evidence is there from any of Manny's fights to suggest he could simply tee off on Maidana with no consequence like a Margarito or Cotto?

You really need to re-watch their fights then. Maidana has been swarmed before and he does not respond by simply standing there and taking it.

Maidana uses timing as good as anyone else. He timed fighters just as fast and arguably faster than Manny and was able to land hard on them at distance and in close quarters.

I think this is a very winnable fight for Marcos Maidana.

Marcos has problems with fighters who are very good movers, Khan, Mayweather, Devon, something that Pacquiao doesn't have, but does do well.

Plus defense wise, if he can land at will against supposedly good defensive fighters as Broner and Mayweather, imagine how much he could land on Pacquiao?

I mean, Pacquiao is no Mayweather or Pernell Whitaker when it comes to defense, we could see him land on Pacquiao all night long.

Yeah and?Who was thurman back in 2012 to fight Maidana? A 8 rounder who fought some time at 154 when chino come from his first fight at 147 looking awfull

            http://www.boxingscene.com/team-maid...-issues--54571

Golden boy Ofered 3 names (thurman , porter and alfonso gomez) and maidana team pick porter but they rejected
            END of the story

Tell haymon to face thurman with decent names before he starts calling out like he was the next big thing

Soto karass puts in troubles in the first round

I will take any bet that Maidana knocks Manny out inside of five. No amount of PR propaganda can convince me otherwise. Chino would beat the hell out of Manny.

This is not Rios, or Algeria, or AARP Marquez, or I.V. drip De la Hoya, or Ricky ******* havin Hatton, or Joshua "I was supposed to lose" Clottey, or Antonio just got my brains knocked loose Margarito, or paleo diet Cotto.

You saw how hard Floyd had to work just to keep Maidana off him, the kid is strong, and Manny is smaller and can't get near heavy enough to push him off. Maidana would blow a whole through Manny.
Styles make fights. Marquez and Pacquiao were always pretty evenly matched. Pac was close to stopping Marquez in their last fight before Marquez stopped him. It was a matter of who landed that big shot first. You must think Floyd is leagues above Manny to think that while Maidana lost to Mayweather, he'd destroy Pacquiao. Yet, Mayweather won't fight Pacquiao. Why not? It's the biggest fight on the planet, and if Floyd is so much better than Manny, It's easy money.

Maidana is not that big either. He's listed at 5'7", and weighed in @ 146 for his 2nd fight with Mayweather. Pacquiao is listed at 5'6.5" and weighed in @ 147 for the first fight with Bradley & 145 the second time around.

As for betting, you must be talking about dollars, because you don't have many NSB points. In any event, if that fight ever happens, PM me if you want to bet. I'll happily take your points or your money.

Stop saying he won't fight Pacquiao, after trying four times with no success at making a fight with him and you want to act surprised when he moves on?

Don't downplay that in four fights he was unable to make any adjustments to beat a man he knows inside and out and has every advantage over.

In his second fight with Floyd, Maidana was able to counter Floyd on and set up traps of his own, he learned and adjusted. He just happened to be fighting the best adapter in the game right now. Manny can't even do that after four fights, Maidana eats him alive.

pac is a very good mover when he wants to be. look at his fight with rios (a similar flat footed brawler like maidana). pac was moving, and turning rios like crazy in that fight.
