  • Maidana needs a couple of good wins to make it hyped up.

    • Reality is any fighter that packs a punch like Maidana has a punchers chance of winning, anyone who disputes that is idiotic. Lets not forget that Pac has been knocked out 3 times, and knocked down on numerous occasions. Does anyone know Serikzhan Yeshmagambetov? He is a feather fisted bantamweight who put Pac down in the 4th round. Pac has also been visibly hurt and or stunned by smaller fighters who do not hit as hard as Maidana, so yes Maidana can Knock Pac out, but so to can Cotto, Margaritto, Mosley and so on. The question is will he? I say no, Maidana has a punchers chance but this deffinetley is the fight that sends him off to his ranch riding horse back into the sunset, back facing the camera because his face is to beat up to turn around.

The fact this former flyweight is getting this much flack for moving down one division is blasphemous.
Give me a break , he dont want to fight WWs because they stand a very big chance of beating him , thats ducking if you think about it , they know if they lose there is no chance of a Mayweather fight , so they fight smaller division fighters at CWs which is lame .

Again your opinion is all you got woulda coulda shoulda , but the reality is he is avoiding prime hungry WWs , while holding a WW title he fights 5 JWs in a row .

you say he dosent care about maintaining legacy , obviously but he cares about winning and thats why he wont fight WW world champions , he will just lower legacy by fighting Algieri and Jessie Vargas ,,,,,,, something up the sht in that or Manny is ducking fighters that might beat him .

He was weighing 148 pounds on fight night fighting Marquez , he weighed 147 pounds on the night against Oscar who was 145 , I agree he walks around at about 150-155 , same as Floyd who was weighing 150 on the night against Canelo , now here is what I find confusing , Floyd can give Canelo 20 pounds but Manny cant fight WWs , Floyd can school JMM weighing the same as Manny did when he got iced , fact is Floyd is within a few pounds of Manny but he is expected to fight MWs but Manny is ok to fight a stream of JWWs .

        • When people say Pac will kill him, they've gotta be thinking of 2009 Pac which Pac isnt anymore. I can see Maidana taking it.

That's like someone saying long ago "do you really think Holyfield could take Tyson's punch when the lesser puncher Bowe knocked Holyfield out?". Maidana hitting harder than JMM does not make it a foregone conclusion or even a high probability that he could land the same type of punch with the same effect anymore than Tyson, a harder puncher, could replicate what Bowe did when in fact he couldn't. Every fight is a different set of dynamics that don't lend to many comparisons. A more recent example was people saying "If Merroquin could hurt Rigo TWICE, then Donaire is going to KO Rigo with the first left he lands" and we saw how that went. History is littered with examples of fighters taking huge shots from big punchers and not flinching and then being knocked out by lighter punchers and that is if we are even assuming Maidana hits harder than JMM overall, which we cannot.

            • Chinos definitely improved bigtime. C'mon , countering Floyd , making em miss not to mention beating him up once. Legit 50 50 fight for Manny but not at 140.

Floyd may come in to the ring at 150 but he does not walk around at 150 at all. He walks around at about 160 range. I don't have double standards I don't think Floyd should have to fight Gennady. Yes I would like to see him challenge him for middleweight supremacy but I will not knock him for not doing it. Yea this does seem to be a reacuring thing with Floyd and Manny having these belts at different weight classes in a strangle hold which is only hurting boxing.I'm not even going to get into juan marquez. We all have our own opinions between whoes right and whoes wrong and can bicker all night going in circles. One thing for certain though and thats STYLES MAKE FIGHTS. Everyone and there grandma knows Pacquiao over anyone else has the best chance to beat Floyd Mayweather. Yet road block after road block has derailed this fight from happening. Whether this fight happens or not one thing will be set in stone for years to come and thats Floyd Mayweather is better Pacquiao is greater

The dynamics of Maidana connecting solidly on Pac's chin is what uncle Bob will try avoid at all costs. And if by some crazy chance Chino and Pac do meet, you can be certain momma Dionesia will be ringside hexing Chino's legs during his ring walk.

There's absolutely no question Maidana has a puncher's chance. He's a gamer and anyone in the sport with power like he has can and will have a puncher's chance against ANYONE in & around the weight class. That said, Maidana would be the dog in the fight. A live dog? Sure. But still the underdog.

I don't think people mean killing him in the sense that the 09' Pacquiao would. I think they mean killing him on the cards -- which would be the likely outcome. Maidana would never decision him. Ever. Maidana's going to come forward all night long and get tagged over and over again. Maidana's only path to a win would be to flat out stop him.
