Yeah it was bad but nothing was as bad as the scoring for Sturm odh.

    • Exactly this.......

Exactly. Oscar had killer instinct. Floyd doesn't and that's why Oscar wins. Floyd's defense is also a weakness, because he's limited in punch output. If he steps up and fights an A Level opponent, he will lose. Bank on it. Potshotting, holding, and trying to survive, won't work then. He'll have to let his hands go, or lose a decision.

a younger dlh would have had at least a 50/50 shot at beating Floyd. people seem to easily dismiss dlh because he had some losses but forget he fought everyone including a prime mosely,,,whitaker,,,,quartey and Trinidad unlike floyd who avoids styles that will risk his big "0"

I watched MOST of Oscar career and NO I doubt even a younger Oscar would have "KNOCKED OUT MAYWEATHER"

Oscar never looked great against Boxers and guys who can avoid punches and counter
I don't think he'd have knocked out Floyd either but I feel strongly that dlh could have out pointed him in a close fight

come on man. you don't think that fight was close? it wasn't controversial as Floyd did seem to eke it out but it was damn close and competitve

            • Oscars Jab and Left Hook were second to none in his prime.

Im saying im 100% certain he doesnt ko floyd.... Oscar on his best day isnt stopping floyd... He may win the fight, but floyd is damn near impossible to stop

NO..IT WASN'T if you really watch that fight without Lampley, Merchant and RIP Stewart but it was obvious all 3 was going for Oscar

Oscar started off good and Mayweather pulled away later in that fight as Oscar put away his JAB

Also that one judge likely was going to score for Oscar NO MATTER ONE, for goodness sakes they was able to get one judge to score Canelo vs Mayweather a damn DRAW

Again that wasn't PRIME Mayweather either and also wasn't his Weight Class so you can make that argument as well. The Mayweather he fought at 154 is different from the one that fought at Welterweight

It is not about WHO YOU LIKE MORE or any of that **** I don't discuss boxing based on emotions or because I don't like this or that guy. Oscar just never looked his best against Skilled Boxers who can move and make him miss punches.

                    • More than 50%

He had more than a 50% chance. I would say at least a 70% chance. He could match Floyd's IQ. He was bigger, stronger, as fast, had great legs and ring generalship, and he had the best jab of his time. Floyd had no advantages at all. He's a bit overrated. Look at how Oscar fought flat-footed against him, was able to think with him, defended pretty well and was up by a round after 8. Floyd won down the stretch when Oscar's age showed up. What does that tell us? A prime Oscar who could move in and out would beat Floyd. Floyd has trouble with speedy fighters who can move in and out, before he can counter effectively.
