    Very few guys in history have scored a complete dominant win over another top p4p guy at his peak.. I don't think it's a deal breaker if canelo never gets a win like that..
    Reid and Joppy are better than Lara and Trout. Now compare their performances.

    Greatness is measured by who you beat, when you beat him and HOW you beat him. Trinidad was bulldozing top contenders in multiple weight classes.

      I thought the Trout fight was much closer than the cards but it was a good, tough win. These are the kind of wins that won't jump out years from now (because a guy like Trout isn't HOF caliber) but are underrated. Like when Manny Pacquiao beat Ledwaba and Bradley. Mayweather beating a Chavez or Jones stopping Malinga. The Lara win is similar but Cotto will tell the tale. It's a winnable fight and would be a huge boon to his resume.
      I would say Canelo over Trout would be like Floyd over Genaro or Pacquiao over Ledwaba, except that the 2 latter were very decisive in their victories.

        True, they are about the same as trout and Lara... That's not relevant to canelo having wins like Floyd/corrales or manny/Barrera... Floyd and manny both demolished highly rated p4p guys at their peak.. Wins like that are extremely rare in boxing, and it don't think it should hurt Canelo's legacy if he never dominantly beats an elite p4p guy, neither has cotto, Shane, oscar, Tito, etc..

          You're joking right?

          Reid was blind from one eye and had about a dozen fights and even then he managed to knock Trinidad down and win a bunch of rounds. And Joppy's biggest win was against a 50 year old fat Duran, he really wasn't that good.

          Lara and Trout would've embarrassed both of them and Canelo would've destroyed both of them.

          Trinidad never bulldozed any top contender.

              Decisive...plus I think Hernandez is a way better fighter.

                [QUOTE=ElMeroChingon;15009600]Best win is against Lara,

                A 24 year old had Lara running to the point that Lara was not even throwing, there were times when Lara literally turned around with his BACK TOWARDS CANELO, and freaken ran the opposite way. It was humiliating, even hard to watch at times.[/QUOTE

                  It's decent for his age, and he's fighting better opposition as time goes on.
                  Trout and Lara were good wins..and he's got a fight with Cotto on the horizon.

                  IMO it won't be long until he moves up in weight, and the fact he's the kind of fighter who doesn't duck anyone..there are plenty of big fights to come.

                  At this stage, and at his age, i think his resume is good enough. It wasn't so long ago he was criticized for his opposition, but he's changed that view IMO with his last handful of fights.

                  Bigger things to come for him IMO, i see him being involved in plenty of big fights in the upcoming years.

                    He sucks because Mayweather beat him. Come talk to me when Pac fights him, then ill tell you he's the GOAT.

                      The hate for Canelo is unreal. Btw, he whipped Lara. You dont win fights with that small of punch output, Trout was close. Trout just landed a jab and got put down and seriously hurt. They were competitive fights with top 5 contenders in his division and that makes him a hype job? He lost to Mayweather, no way around that but he lost tho this era's best fighter. He's gonna beat Cotto too.
