The hate for Canelo is unreal. Btw, he whipped Lara. You dont win fights with that small of punch output, Trout was close. Trout just landed a jab and got put down and seriously hurt. They were competitive fights with top 5 contenders in his division and that makes him a hype job? He lost to Mayweather, no way around that but he lost tho this era's best fighter. He's gonna beat Cotto too.

I thought Canelo was overrated and not worth the hype for so long. Especially when he f#was fighting much smaller guys in Matty Hatton and so on but then came the Trout fight, close enough to be a draw but Canelo showed a spark in that. Then of course Mayweather and it was too early for the Mexican.

SInce then, he has fought two impressive fighters, yes Angulo was close to being done but he was still regarded as a vicious puncher and Canelo tore him apart. With Lara, the fight was close at first but as it got tougher and the championship rounds got closer, Canelo was clearly the guy with the dog in him. He was willing to stand and trade, to take it to the streets whereas Lara just wanted to survive. That fight, no matter how you scored it, showed Canelo has the will to be great.

If Canelo can add Cotto to his list of wins, he will be one of the most impressive 24 year olds I've seen in boxing for many years.
