He fought Margarito in Las Vegas. He fought Randal Bailey in Vegas. The guy has had no problems fighting in Vegas. I really don't see Cotto having a problem with it. But we'll see.

Personally I could care less what date or venue the fight is made. I just want the fight to be made. It's a fight that would generate the most interest outside Pac/May in my opinion.

But your saying he had more than Canelo? Since Vegas is out of the question for this fight apparently.

That was in the Top Rank era. Cotto is now a Free Agent. So whenever Arum says jump, he doesn't have to say how high. Very, very different.

No way is that fight happening in Vegas, where Canelo gets the advantage.

Right now, Cotto has more leverage than Canelo does. Yes. Cotto is MW champion and has more next fight options than does Canelo.

Cotto is a PPV fighter regardless these days, while Canelo has been relegated back to TV like the rest of these hypejobs.......Deal with it
he did, read the la times article....
              he fought delvin on ppv??
imagine cotto fighting lara on ppv, not even 100k, imagine canelo-maravilla over 400k, but back to your point, as of today canelos last 2 fights were ppvs, cottos last 2 fights only 1 ppv ... and for canelos next fight most likely will be a ppv in may...

Like who? Please do tell which fights he would REALISTICALLY take.

GGG (Roach hinted already), Mayweather rematch (Roach hinted already), Tim Bradley (Arum hinted), Pacquaio rematch, etc.

Cotto already turned down 10 millon to fight Canelo when GBP gave him a deal. Im sure he will turned them down again if he doesnt like how things are. The way Oscar is selling the fight he will have to offer him 20 million fpr him to agree to fight in Vegas.

Even as a free agent Cotto isn't an idiot. He knows that although he is the A side, Canelo is a strong B side. Canelo together with Mayweaher did reach 2 million PPV buys, while Cotto and Mayweather did about 1.5. And it's not as if Cotto's last PPV against a better opponent in Martinez did miraculous numbers. They did about the same as Canelo/Angulo, and a few shades below Canelo/Lara.
You're on here criticizing Canelo for being relegated to regular HBO again, but if I recall after the Mayweather fight Cotto was on regular Showtime against Trout, and I could be wrong but he was also on regular HBO against Rodriguez.

Again I still recognize that Cotto being the lineal MW champ and being at this game a lot longer should still be considered the A side, but not by too much.

A negotiation for the fight being on May 5th weekend to me is not out of the question.
