And it's the Showtime/Al Haymon guy reporting about a rivals numbers. Those reports are about as valid as Arum claiming what a Mayweather buyrate is.

Cinco de mayo is more a Mexican date and Cotto still has PR weekend in NY. You know how every miniscule detail Cotto demanded in his favor against Marvela, he got and won. Do you think he's gonna give in on anything since he's now the Middleweight champion? and he knows that PR weekend is there for the taking and him defending the MW title in front of a home field crowd in NY, He will have the upperhand in negotiations in his opinion. And he knows he can fight Floyd for the MW title at the Barclays for far more money cause Floyd was his highest payday, now he has Roach and a higher weight advantage to fight floyd. What does canelo have to compete with that.

cotto knows that there is more money in may at vegas than the PR parade, is not about who the A-side is, is about how to make more money... and showtime doesnt have cotto as an option for floyd, or else why do you think espinoza is bashing cottos ppv numbers?

Canelo isn't the draw he was made out to be. He's lacking something, can't put my finger on it though.
From a person that watched his whole career let me break this down for you............He isn't your normal authentic Meixcan, doesn't look like one; nor doesnt fight like one....................................

His fan base aint like how he got beat into the fetal position by Floyd and quit trying unlike a Chino. To make matter worse he takes on a mexican in the next fight a hard working normal, tough gritty mexican, and put him against the opposite a golden boy, who has been fortunate to get everything he's got, to make matters worse ODH is his biggest fanatic, well Oscar wasnt seen as a true Mexican and neither is Canelo, he is the new Oscar and all of ODH haters have turned their anger to Canelo. Canelo simply doesnt have the metrosexual sex appeal, nor half the boxing skills that Oscar did to fall back on...........

Canelo is a soulless man; and his handlers unknowingly caused a schism in his fan base, he got booed out the building in 2 straight fights, and ppv numbers are dwindling.......................He has to step his game up to quell the hate but unfortunately, he isnt that good, he has been average his whole career, this was a guy who struggled with Jose Cotto, Matthew Hatton and guys like Tyner; his performance against Trout which was contested, Angulo which was stopped when Angulo was storming, and Lara who made him look like a fool nearly beating him throwing like 10 punches a round; isn't quite erasing them early questions we had about Canelo..............

People don't seem to get it. Alvarez is hell-bent on fighting on that date, WITH OR WITHOUT Cotto in it. I've seen it before and Oscar was not even there. Schaefer was. Is this just a coincidence or what? They have one thing in common -- Canelo Alvarez. He doesn't give a **** about PPV numbers and all that crap.

The text was ambiguous and didnt imply whose numbers were who's; it just stated both parties........He left that in the air for us to decide, is he supposed to full on admit he skews ppv numbers for his fighters

                  http://espn.go.com/boxing/story/_/id...r-views-subpar

The fight at Madison Square Garden generated approximately 350,000 buys on HBO PPV, Top Rank chairman Bob Arum, Cotto's promoter, told ESPN.com, a figure co-promoter Lou DiBella and HBO said was accurate.

Although based on selling that many units the fight generated more than $20 million in pay-per-view revenue, organizers projected that it would compare more closely with the 475,000 subscriptions sold for Martinez's decision victory against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in a September 2012 world title fight in Las Vegas.

But let me break this down for you this way, do you think Canelo Lara really outsold Cotto Sergio near the Puerto Rican day parade.....And if Canelo in fact did sell more how come he was relegated back to regular tv, when the Cotto Lee fight was rumored for PPV still????

                  Are you done yet???????

No one is saying that Cotto wouldn't call most of the shots.

But asking for the fight in May would make the most sense. It's the biggest date in boxing, and Cotto knows it.
