How does their statement change anything? Everyone knows theyre going to try to dictate all terms, doesn't mean they'll be succesful. They can always walk away from the fight just to show Alvarez they're the A side and call the shots so we can then proceed to praise him for not budging and showing who's boss.

Whatever Team Cotto said about being able to dictate terms doesn't change the fact this is realistically their best fight available. Again Mayweayher won't happen because Arum would be involved, he has the same trainer as Manny and the weight issue won't be resolved. What you are forgetting though is that Team Cotto works with Top Rank on a fight by fight basis. So they can easily NOT work with Arum. Cotto is a true Free Agent. So the Mayweather rematch is still an option.

And negotiating a rematch with Pacquaio is also still an option, because Arum is neutral ground. Top Rank can promote the fight themselves entirely, unlike the fight with Canelo. What complicates the matter is Roach.

Roach also said Bradley didn't sell and wasn't interested, but Arum made that fight happen anyway. Cotto being a Free Agent by default gives him more options than Canelo.
