Thing is, stuff like that is negotiated before guys start their training camp.

it doesn't matter who starts the negotiations.

all that matters is what they agree too.

they couldn't agree and that was that.

the person who starts the negotiation doesn't always have the lesser hand.

nor do the person with the lesser hand have to agree to the stronger hand.

none of the points you're trying to make matter.

catchweight is just like any other negotiable thing like gloves, ring sizr, trunk color, introduction or entrance.

dumbest thing is they criticize the smaller guy! dumb.

floyd and pac are smaller fighters. that's what catchweight is for. TOO LIMIT THE BIGGER GUY'S ADVANTAGE.

LIMIT AN ADVANTAGE OF THE BIGGER GUY.

NOT GIVE THE SMALLER GUY AN ADVANTAGE.

but ppl are dumb. they think weight class is a requirement NOT a limit.
So a guy thats never made 147 for 10 yrs and needs IV Fluids to rehydrate 2 lbs and is ultimately out weighed on the night by the little guy is just leveling the playing field .

At what point does the CW HANDICAP the bigger guy , I know , you got no idea when that it is because you have never professionally boxed and had to make a weight to compete at , after all your a fan with a fans view of it all .

If you go down in weight it will always take away from you , if you go up in weight it will never hurt you , the only criteria to that statement is your best weight is in the middle of the 2 extremes .

At this point, and at this weight, it would be tough to pick one. Cotto looks much better at this weight and has looked very good in his last few fights. Then again, while Pac isn't what he was during their first fight, he's still very dangerous.

If they were up for it, I'd buy this fight.

And everytime I re-watch their first fight, I'm reminded how Pacquiao in his prime was a BEAST. I think the Margo fight took a lot out of him as after that fight, he started to go down a bit.

gloves has been controversial for a while.

it's always been part of negotiations.

how the hell did pac outweigh cotto fight night?

cw is suppose to handicap the bigger guy IDIOT.

that's what a catchweight is for.

You made general comments about CWs and leveling the playing field , I made a general comment referencing Oscar vs Manny . when Oscar destroyed himself before the bell rang .

As for Cotto , Manny will NEVER NEVER NEVER fight him without a CW that has been PROVEN , at 154 Cotto would stop him .

                    oscar did that to himself.

he could have rehydrated after official weigh in.

he waited til fight night to rehydrate so he can weigh light at the fight night weighin.

so when he beat pac he can claim he wasn't much bigger.

he only has himself to blame.

i don't give a **** if pac fights cotto or not with a cw.

it's up to them to negotiate.

You are misunderstanding. I am not saying just because Pac started negotiation, he has a lesser or stronger hand. I am saying that it is proof that he wanted the fight...PERIOD! Once you know that fact, you can can just use common sense. Why did Pac originally want Pac at 145? Because it would give him a better chance to win. Why wouldn't Pac want to fight Cotto at 152 or above? Because he and his team felt that he would have much less of a chance to win.
