I have said it here a few times. In May both Shaefer and Oscar confirmed that Golden Boy (not Floyd) have already locked up the MGM grand for May 5th and Mexican Independence day 2015. So if Floyd wants to fight that day it won't be on MGM.
I think Canelo/Cotto gets made with HBO. The MGM isn't going to burn their relationship with Canelo for a guy about to retire in a few months.
Team Canelo recently made it clear they have no exclusive deal with Showtime. HBO has said they won't work with Haymon again, nothing is stopping a joint fight between GBP/TR next May. if that happens forget what Floyd wants, Showtime won't put him up against that fight and it seems Floyd is still ducking Manny with his recent demands.

Unless Cotto decides to fight Floyd in May then the only fight that would kill Cotto vs Floyd is Canelo vs Pacquiao. This move by Canelo pressure's Floyd to fight either Cotto or Pacquiao cause if he doesn't fight any of them two he will have to reschedule his May date.

Good psychological warfare for de la hoya. Floyd will be forced to either fight a really meaningful fight like cotto or pacman. Knowing how hard-headed and egotistical floyd is, de la hoya is trying to push him on the edge. Maybe this is somethign not only canelo demands but HBO and arum as well are secretly behind this. Now showtime will have to push floyd the hardest to fight pacman that's for sure. That's the only way canelo, oscar, hbo is backing off on a may fight.

Floyd will offer a rematch to cotto in MSG under TMT who's now licensed to stage fights in NY, securing a good opponent that will sell and taking Canelo's at the same time. Remember where you heard it first

I understand him wanting those dates but he's got to earn it, imo. He clearly lost to Mayweather and I think he's gotta eat a little humble pie before he tries to be a shot caller
