I think Canelo/Cotto gets made with HBO. The MGM isn't going to burn their relationship with Canelo for a guy about to retire in a few months.
Team Canelo recently made it clear they have no exclusive deal with Showtime. HBO has said they won't work with Haymon again, nothing is stopping a joint fight between GBP/TR next May. if that happens forget what Floyd wants, Showtime won't put him up against that fight and it seems Floyd is still ducking Manny with his recent demands.
I don't think he's ducking him at all nor has he ever. But he recently said that the fight has to be on Showtime, and MP has to be the lead promotional company. HBO can and will still get paid and Top Rank can and will still be involved in the promotion, they just wont be the lead promotional company.

Canelo is not on Floyd or Pac or even Cotto's level yet as far as drawing power.

As such, he isnt on their level as far as calling shots go. They all get to pick their dates before he does.

The only way he fights on that date is if he is fighting one of the afore-mentioned gentlemen.

Canelo vs Cotto on Cinco De Mayo??? Mexico vs Puerto Rico?!?!?!.. Sorry Floyd fanboys but your hero wouldn't stand a chance unless he's fighting Manny Pacquiao.. I'm still waiting on the official release of the numbers from the first Maidana fight.

Floyd is being forced to fight Pacquiao or else he's losing the date to Cotto vs Canelo. Haha! Good for him. It's about that time he mans up and fights "the midget".

You guys gotta realize Mayweather-Khan and Canelo-Cotto both won't happen on that date. Only one fight will happen on that date. Even if Canelo-Cotto is at MSG on HBO PPV and Mayweather-Khan is at MGM on SHO PPV, they will never compete with each other. It's bad business. Only one fight will go on that date. We will see what happens, get your popcorn ready.

It's because no one outside of hardcore fans know who Lara is! Canelo vs Cotto on Cinco de Mayo Mexico vs Puerto Rico would be huge!!!!!

Uh. Canelo's fight did decent numbers for his 2nd PPV headline. Quit lying to the people. I HATE LIARS... The reason why Canelo's next fight won't be on PPV. Is because they don't see fans paying for 3 PPV fights in the same year. That's asking people for $210. $140 (2 PPV's) a year is what people are accustom to paying to see their favorite fighter.

Giving the people a break and making a 3rd fight in one year not PPV. Is a good PR move. Giving paying customers a little something free is always good business. That's ALL it is. Nothing more nothing less.

I agree. People discount Khans UK drawing power and the UK loves Floyd.
