What do you expect the referee to do stop mid-way through waiving it off?

Don't blame the referee, blame the guy who waited until 9.5 seconds to start to rise.
No he tried to used all the time he was allowed to him. Sadly the ref didnt know how to count.

What do i expect a ref to do? Count to 10 and if he's not up, wave it off. How can a wave come before he hits the 10 count?

So why did he actually say 10? wouldnt he have said 11 if the wave was the "10" in your fairy world of making up your own rules? The wave was started half a second faster then he said 10, which doesnt make sense anyway. There shouldnt have been a 10 or wave because it was up off the canvas by the time 10 had been reached. He got a 9.2 count, not a 10 count
He says "diez" as he's waving his arms. Same time. There's no delay and his count was consistent.

what if floyd gets knocked down someday? he's going to have no idea what the count is since he can't count. it would be a shame to lose like that.

In the video, ortiz goes down and then Esteves escorts Lucas to the corner and walks back and then starts the count. Think about that!

No, he began the wave way before he begins to say diez. That makes no sense, if the wave comes before the 10. The diez begins when his arms at at his mouth, meanwhile the wave begins when esteves himself was still taking a knee with his arms way below his mouth.

The count was consistent, but it wasnt in sync with his wave which came before he said 10

You really are splitting hairs now having been proved wrong. The wave is 10.

what about implementing a clock like the ones in the NBA? you know, to keep real account of the time you have left after being KD, would that help?

Always depends on the speed of the refs count compared to the game clock yea? Shoot, watching Mundine's fight against Clottey back, he had 15 second counts at the ref's 8 count

No...the referee looks over at the timekeeper who cues him on the count and he takes it from there.

I know its hard getting pwn'd. Making up your own rules and then getting exposed on that as well is hard, i know
