I said bigger than most.. and if you want to just blindly go by ratings then all competition looks good. People crap on Kovalev, but Campillo should've been a unified champion when they fought, which would mean he would've been very highly rated, but since Kovalev doesn't come from the HBO legendary nights background, his competition isn't given the same glassy eyed, roll out the red carpet treatment. Face it, the competition is good for someone coming up, but to act like it is great is overrating.
What makes Kovalev special?

He can actually, it's Golovkin who can't. Kovalev is more mobile with better footspeed.
He seems open to the left hand. KO'd in amateurs, caught by Agnew and dropped by Caparello. Definite chink in his defence imo.
Kovalev v Hopkins is going to be fascinating.Comment

No not really. They were all top fighters in the divison and all good fighters.I said bigger than most.. and if you want to just blindly go by ratings then all competition looks good. Broner has fought barely any good fighters.
Do your research. Their come ups and nothing alike in any sense.Comment

Kovalev is the real deal, a true lion. If the Alien wins this fight it's well deserved and should make him #1 or #2 p4p.Comment

No. Of course we can compare how Kova and Floyd looked against bums, but it doesnt make much sense. Let us wait till November. If Kovalev beats Hopkins in his usual "Not going backwards" style, would you give him props? Or he will remain "unskilled robotic eurobum"? hahaLast edited by From Russia; 08-30-2014, 02:18 PM.Comment
