He clearly is a good fighter & easily top 10 at the weight.
He has two losses & arguably won both. He just also beat a very awkward good fighter in Drian Fransisco & getting better each fight.

He is up there he just doesn't have the name recognition & stand out names the others may possess.

I have no doubt he'd give all the other champions at the weight a run for their money.

rigondeaux will destroy that poor kid. i've seen almost all of avalos' televized fights. i saw hiim fight live once, too, and also saw him work out for the media.

he's going to get f#cking killed. he'll either decide to give up and do nothing, or come forward and get knocked the hell out.

I wouldn't even think of fighting this guy if were one of these potential opponents of his. He's not a dance partner in the real sense. He doesn't follow the tune, yet wants you to follow his. He doesn't want to take risks, he runs and want you to come after him. He's so desperate in looking good, but so scared of taking risks.

But if I were forced to fight him, I do the same thing like him, run, let him come, then clinch, rinse and repeat. I won't care about the audience. Let them boo all they want, leave in droves...

isn't that usually the way it works for all of Rigondeaux's opponents?

He isn't a bad prospect/contender by any stretch and who else is Rigo supposed to fight?
                  Kiko/Frampton are tied up.
Quigg isn't ready & LSC has no balls.

Avalos is the best opponent available.

If he was fighting any of the above not named Rigo it would be a legitimate fight.

Question (This is just asking for your god's honest opinion): Why are some boxers like Ward, Floyd, Rigo etc who have dominated their division never under any pressure to move up a division from their own fans? I ask this because I keep seeing people saying others should move up because there is nothing left in that division for them but when it comes to those three names you barely see it from their fans. I'm just trying to understand it from the perspective of fans who actually are die hard fans of let's say Rigo..let's eliminate Ward and Floyd I used them as purely only examples.

PS- Don't worry i'm not trying to get into a debate and won't be critiquing your point of view, hell i'll likely not even reply. Just curious.

Because he's one of those fighters that are entitled to preferential, primadonna treatment. He doesn't have to do anything, except stay as he is.

People say Mayweather has to be more entertaining and do this and that. Pacquiao has to cut off the ring and do this and that. When it comes to Rigo, it's Agbeko's fault why people were booing and exiting the doors in mass numbers. It's never his fault that his fights are boring to watch. In reality, he's a one dimensional fighter.
