Well, cuz as history shows, over seas champs come to the us to fight, but end up losing the majority of the time, most by ko.

Hes probably the best fighter at 130, makes tonnes in Japan. If you want to see him as irrelevant, thats on you. Him fighting in the US wouldnt change a thing, it would probably be detrimental for his income.

I dont disagree with your second paragraph, but its slipping like you said earlier. Other parts of the world are also getting the people, the money. Examples include Sauerland, K2, And Matchroom... Who arent entangled with the (boring) US Boxing politics.

Ill just offer to agree to disagree on the soccer thing. You dont need US respect to be relevant in boxing anymore, whereas youd probably have to play in Europe to gain respect in soccer. I really fail to see how US respect means so much.
      What is his name?

The wins would increase his relevance. Didn't one of the Japaneese fighters just sign with Haymon and appeared on SHo TV. That KO was insane. A lot of the people watching with me were impressed.

That's not US politics as the US doesn't run those organizations (wbc, wba).

Its not about getting US fans respect just for the sake of it. You can disagree, but the US remains, except for the lower weights, where the best competition is. You can not come here, but you wont get the same respect because you haven't defeated the best comp.

        That's my point about MLS.
Wasnt that kamegai dude that was fighting guerrero japanese?

Not true, and there are many examples to the contrary.

The real issue with this fight isn't Wlad, it's Pulev. K2 never wanted this fight for this very reason. If it was Wlad v Fury, or Wilder or Povetkin...there would be plenty of interest.

The fact that he's not American (or British) AND boring to watch is obviously not doing him favours.
Lennox had popular American opponents. The standard of US heavyweight in Wlad's era is very low.

Anyhow, this news sucks and I'm su****ious as to whether Wlad really has a bicep injury.

You are not crazy. It did say hamstring. When I read "bi-cep" I thought it was a completely different article. Lol

Not really. The guys who don't come to the US tend to flourish in obscurity. Outside of the lowest weight, the best competition is here. There are very few examples where niot coming to America to fight leads to meaningful recognition.

lol bro you don't how you're sounding right now. Outside the US is not obscurity, boxing is big elsewhere. You need to get yourself a passport and travel some to get some perspective, the world's a big place.

I agree that it is. If you read the thread I compare it to being dominant in soccer in the US. That isn't the same as dominating Europe. You can earn a great living in US soccer, same as you can in boxing in other countries.

But if you choose not to come to the US and face the best opposition you wont get the same respect as the guys who do. America is still the mecca of boxing Weebler.

I recently read an article that Lewis-V. Klitschko drew 7M viewers on HBO. HBO and SHO don't even draw 1M viewers anymore. If we were to see a fight draw 2M viewers on HBO or SHO in 2014, we would be doing backflips. Lennox Lewis-Vitali Klitschko drew 7M. Crazy change in times.
