I find it a very good career-defining win because of all the idiots (mainly the Boozo brigade) who picked Lacy to win easily in dramatic fashion.

That's a valid point, but not in regards to boosting Calzaghe's pound for pound status as high as some here think is a given.

It's fair to say the way that fight played out was more dominating than Hopkins vs Tito, Shane vs Oscar, Manny vs Barrera,

but regardless of it being before or after the fight, Jeff Lacy isn't and wasn't on the same level as those names.

That's because those names were pound for pound elite, something Lacy wasn't (yet).

Thus suggesting Calzaghe, who hasn't done anything significant in years (or maybe ever) prior to this fight,

does NOT get boosted to the top 5 pound for pound.
