He had to eat fast food and junk food to get to LHW for his first fight. His crappy first manager just got him a random fight at 175 and Hopkins ate a lot to be bigger. He's said that was the last time he's ever ate fast food '88).

He says he can make 154 with no problem so he is a small middleweight. I think he is good enough to beat any 168 pounder so that would be the highest weight he should compete at. I don't know if he could beat Kovalev but why push it. He could stay at middleweight if he wanted to. Middleweights is not almost dead. Middleweight is the fighting weight of more men world wide than any other weight class. The world hasn't stopped producing good 160 pound boxers. I am sure some excellent middleweights will be making a name for themselves very soon. The strength of different weight classes changes all the time.

What weight classes can Peter Quillin go up to? He's taller and the same age.

It's not really fair for fighters such as GGG or Rigo who entered the pros later in life and whose body has already gone through a growing process.

Take Chavez Jr and Broner. Had we seen them first in their current age, and take in mind they're young still (28 and 25), we would be shocked they ever fought at 160 or 130.

Imagine when they are in their early 30s. Is anyone going to ask if they can keep moving up after movie up various divisions?

Had we seen GGG or Rigo since the beginning, they would already be in their 3rd or so division.

Make a thread and ask that question...

He can go all the way to 175 if he gets Mitchell, Bruseles, and Gatti type dudes. Or he can just ask for catch weights like the divas in the sport are doing.
not surprised you try to bring Floyd into this somehow someway...why are people so defensive when people ask about GGG moving up in weight??

at 40 hopkins moved up 2 whole divisions man..2 whole divisions and dominated..floyd at 30 moved up to his 5th division and fought Oscar..at 30 Manny was still moving up...Ward is 30 and people say he should move up..so why the excuse of age here?

You obviously make threads for certain motives, but really I just think it's a silly topic. If we're talking about some 18 year old 122 pound prospect that would be different since often these teenage fighters continue to grow. With Golovkin he's fully grown, plus the gap between weight classes is much bigger so we already know the answers - he can go to 168 or 175 at best. Thats literally it. Obviously he can't be a cruiserweight or a heavyweight.

How is that defensive? I'm just stating my opinion in a thread where you asked a question. Also if you read correctly, I said "divas" with an "s", plural.
